Friday night's game between UNC and Wake forest is non-conference

Been awhile since they played. It used to be every other year, and I think the AD's got over waiting and getting delayed with the cross-division scheduling issues, plus the schools are an hour and a half from each other. So they scheduled one on their own.

I think I heard Haunted screaming to get out of bounds all the way here in FL.
I thought UNC was going to pull off their 3rd straight come back win, but a couple of bonehead plays at the end screwed it up for them.

Haha yeah, well he was actually were out of bounds with 1-2 seconds left no doubt about it but I wasn't too worried about letting the clock run out. Game was already over. What DID bother me is that NC stopped wake on their last drive on 3rd down outside field goal range. The refs gave a "generous spot"(via announcer, was more than a yard), then the moron held the far stick with the chain at a near 45 degree angle favoring wake's direction and wake "got" the first down by an inch. That stopped UNC's 4th quarter comeback. NC would've received a punt with 4 minutes on the clock, all their timeouts and down by 3 had they not been screwed by that shit.

But, they could've obviously done more the rest of the game so that one instance wouldn't have mattered. I had already lost hope, NC deserved to lose. But that comeback was great just like their other 4th quarters. I jumped out of my seat after they stopped them on 3rd down........but NOPE, refs said GTFOH HEELS

I forgot to mention, wake played pretty well. They should have a good season. I was also impressed with UNC's defense.... NC had had only 1 drive with 1st downs. It was punt punt punt punt punt fumble punt punt lucky drive FG then more punting in the 3rd q. Allowing 24 pts and being on the field for 3/4 of the game or more wasn't bad.

Did you watch how they lost? Georgia Tech ran for a TD with 4 seconds left in the red zone, but the coach was standing by the ref and called time RIGHT at the snap. No flag and both teams continued with the play. They scored for the win but they had to rewind it because of their bonehead coach then lost on HIS play he called timeout for.

As if that wasn't bad enough, the citadel beat Georgia Tech running the triple option the whole time. It even looked like Johnson's exact spread offense!!! Beat at their own game, by an fcs team, and their coach stole their winning TD. Poor kids.

Cringe worthy to see notre dame's defense play decent then also get lucky with that dropped punt receive.  Posting this after their TD in the 2nd q. If Georgia's offense can start getting their shit together they should be fine though.

Just got home from the game. A friend had a group with a couple of no-shows so he passed the tix to me for FREE. These tix were worth a grand or two or more, but I figured for once I'd actually endure a ridiculous crowd at a BIG game (usually I go to the smaller non-conference ones or the Georgia vs Georgia Tech games after Thanksgiving). HOLY FUCKING MOLY, Athens was packed full of assholes.

Anybody catch those two COMPLETELY bullshit injury flops that Notre Dame players kept pulling whenever Georgia was gaining momentum on drives in the 2nd half? There had to be close to 100 thousand people there, and 95% of them were rabid Bulldogs fans that were cussing them a blue streak each time they did that shit. Fucking TWICE they did it! Both times, it was bullshit. They should seriously do something about that shit, it's CLEARLY cheating. They should charge these fagolas a timeout or 10 yards or something. If they can suspend Todd Gurley for 4 or 6 games for taking 100 bucks to sign a couple jerseys like he did that year when he was pretty much GUARANTEED to win the Heisman... then they should make rules against frivolous injury "flops" too. It's basically a free timeout without taking a timeout. But I guess Notre Dame is about playing BITCH football.

It should not have been that close. Without that fumbled punt reception Georgia gifted them at the 15ish yd line, Notre Dame wouldn't have had a prayer.

I only saw one of those, watched 90%of the game though. I probably saw the worst example though because it was bad. Looked like his teammate told him go down you're injured them they started messing with his chin strap and gave him eye drops. And yes, it was right after 2 huge passing gains. What was irritating the most for me is that notre dame's defense actually played well, particularly their secondary. There was one call that I think should have been pass interference. The contact wasn't bad at all, but he wasn't looking at the ball and there was a shirt tug. There was another borderline one as well but mostly saw some decent coverage. Georgia's ceiling with passing/receiving is higher, but they were executing at 70% and ND's corners at 90%. Eventually georgia had a few big plays and a good drive and a half.

Oh. It's irritating because it gave everyone pretext to say notre dame can go toe to toe with anyone in the nation, the georgia crowd was so volatile that nd would've won at home, etc-- resulting in nd remaining in the playoff picture. And the better georgia does, the better for them. Clemson is in. Wisco/ohio state, oklahoma, and sec. Should be ok.

The score should've/could've been 33-13ish. But that miffed punt reception, luck, and notre dame pulling that stupid shit. There ya go. Still, nd surprised and impressed me on defense. Media will exaggerate it tenfold. 

On a side note,  I finally won a good wager like I used to. I picked notre dame, Colorado, utep,  illinois, UCLA, and Colorado state to all cover the spread in the 1st Q. All as underdogs, 10$ to win $460. Taking the underdog to cover the plus spread for the 1st quarter is a handy gimmick for games that start out slow, works well in the nfl. Got lucky with all 6 though.
