Virginia Tech gets 6OT win over UNC in longest game in ACC history
https://www.espn.com/college-football/recap?gameId=401112489
More hard luck for UNC
UNC has 4 loses and all of them are by 7 or less. UNC is a much better team than their record shows.
Alabama wins but Tua goes out with a high ankle sprain, this could be a injury that bothers him the rest of the season.
Tua will probably sit next week against Arkansas, but the following week Alabama plays LSU.
Florida survives South Carolina with the help of a couple missed calls

Florida would've likely won anyway, just by less, if those bad calls/no calls hadn't happened. UNC has lost a 1pt game, a 2 pt game, a 3 pt game and a 6 pt game. Haha damn it. Hopefully they can win 6 though. The road ahead sucks too(I was HOPING for 8, but 6 is more realistic now). NC State is sucking lately so all they'll care about is beating NC in the last game of the season. Add pitt and Virginia, all 3 of those will be very tough. Then there's duke as well. Who knows. NC was 2nd in the ACC power rankings until yesterday with a 3-3 record lol. Georgia's defense is still playing very well, but offensively they're still not clicking like they could. Yesterday's game was still more of the common theme. Just beating teams because they're supposed to. Btw, I'm not saying this means anything but I saw this the other day comparing Kirby smart and Mark richt.....ah shit I can't find it, but it was a side by side comparison of their first 4 years at Georgia. It was 99% identical record and resume-wise. Just 1 digit was different by 1 for a year for something.

All that means is that Kirby Smart is successful so far in the first few years of his job. The first few years at Georgia, Mark Richt had Matt Stafford as a QB (one of the best QBs UGA's ever had in my opinion), and he went on to be one of the better long-range bomber and gunslinger style of QB's in the NFL. It ain't gonna be easy to beat Richt's record, because even in the "off" years Georgia had, they still did pretty good. If they ever had a losing record, it was rare. Part of the problem yesterday was the rain. It was raining pretty much ALL DAY LONG non-stop, foggy, shitty, and it was really the first good rain we've had in and around Athens in a long time, so they've gotten used to nice dry conditions.
I don't hold much hope for them this year though. Receivers need to CATCH shit, and more than that, Fromm needs to get his accuracy back. He's making TERRIBLE tosses the past few weeks, lagging behind receivers, etc, and that's the reason he got picked to death by South Carolina. Their next game is in 2 weeks vs Florida at a "neutral" stadium in Jacksonville. This is gonna be the make-or-break game. If Georgia loses to Florida, they pretty much have no hopes of having a path to the playoffs no matter what else may happen. And honestly, Florida's gonna be their toughest opponent so far, even more so than Notre Dame, maybe even more so than Auburn (coming up Nov 16th).
And Alabama vs LSU is probably gonna decide who gets the SEC West this year. Personally, I agree with LSU getting ranked #2, they've kicked ass pretty hard this year. Auburn's in the running, but... they have to get through games with LSU, Georgia, AND Alabama with at least 2-1 record of those 3 games to maybe only tie for it.

UNC just landed a 5 star recruit, then immediately after a 5 star recruit decommitted from Auburn (the kid was 90% Auburn, 10% NC). So far it's looking better recruiting-wise. They're currently 17th for 2020, and will jump a few more spots if the 2nd 5 star officially declares. Seems like Mack brown is at least snagging the instate good ones that would normally leave.

Another tight one for NC, but they won...barely.
If Kansas beats texas tech it'll be upsets across the board for the entire big 12.
The playoffs are looking like
OSU/penn state
alabama/lsu
alabama/lsu/sec east championship winner
clemson
There's a nightmare scenario in there but it's unlikely at least. If lsu beats bama then loses the sec championship game to Florida or Georgia, how would those teams compare to oregon winning the pac 12 with their only loss being to Auburn
Speaking of Auburn it looks like they've been studying some Notre dame film

Hah! Kansas won. Wish I would've caught the end. Read the attached play that set them up for their WINNING fg.
VA lost to miami and Louisville now, and Pitt just lost to miami. NC plays VA and pitt next, if they win those 2 games they probably play clemson in the acc championship game with at best 4 losses
Oh and how could I forget to mention that Notre dame is getting roasted

GOD DAMMIT, VIRGINIA TECH!
Yeah, like we said, Notre Dame is now likely gonna weasel it's way back into the playoffs.

Nah, ND has 2 losses and the loss against Mich was a beatdown.
Congrats to UGA, they outplayed UF in a well played game by both teams. I'm glad it was not a high turnover or high penalty game.
The 1 bad call was the UGA receiver catch the was really helped out by the ground. UGA scored a TD right after that, when it would have been a FG try otherwise. I think UGA would have won anyway.

Agreed, ND has little to no chance. The team that's going to jump 4 spots on the cfp rankings relative to the AP is going to be Michigan. Their "quality losses" and wins are exactly what the committee wants. A close loss to Penn State (blue blood program), a 2 TD loss to Wisconsin (tier 2 blue blood), and a beat down on Notre Dame (blue blood that carries a lot of weight). Additionally, ranking Michigan higher will justify them putting Ohio State at #1 or making sure they won't drop much of they lose.

I can see that, especially the way it helps Ohio St.
Ohio St. & ND are the favorites of the polls every year. ND is out, so let's make sure Ohio St. gets in.

CFP poll is obviously irrelevant at this point but dang, they love the big 10. The CFP commissioner stated that OSU has had the toughest SoS of anyone in the top 4, and I saw he claimed tougher SoS than Auburn... Lol. Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Indiana, and Michigan State are their staple wins. I think OSU is pretty good, but what happens when/if they beat Penn State and Michigan? Do we have to create some new value greater than #1 to portray how awesome they are? Haha. Penn State has a better resume, and I doubt they'd be #1 with a win over #1 Ohio State. They'd put them at 2. BUT, if OSU beats Penn State they'll put them above the winner of LSU Alabama again.
On a side note Clemson still seems like a lock to get in despite being at #5.

Clemson gets in if they win out (which should happen)
The rest of the combo's are to far out to guess at this point.

And yet again, we're looking at another year where it's worked out to where Alabama can miss the SEC Championship and still get seeded as one of the 4 playoff spots. I wouldn't complain about it except for the fact that it's ALWAYS ALABAMA who is afforded that luxury and no one else. Name ONE other school in the modern college playoff era that didn't win their division and didn't go to a conference championship game, but still got into the playoffs. I can't think of anyone else except Alabama, and if I recall correctly, they've done it TWICE already, and this year could make 3 times. Situations like that are supposed to be FLUKES - rare things. The playoff era has only been around for 5 or 6 years. This is why I think the rules of playoff seeding should be amended to stipulate that only conference champions are eligible for the playoff bowl spots.

Assuming UGA & LSU win out.
If UGA beat LSU by a 3 points in the SEC Championship, I think LSU would still get in the playoff. (might drop from 1 to 4)
LSU would have beat Auburn, who beat Oregon. (If Oregon wins the PAC12)
Would the committee put a 1 loss Oklahoma ahead of a 1 loss LSU (who played a much harder schedule), probably not.
Clemson should be a lock, they do not play anyone who is top 20.
Still to early, but the scene is getting slowly clearer.
