The spread has dropped to 4.5 with unc va tech. I'm telling ya, unc is going to win by more than 5 points. Our qb is on fire and the kid blames himself for their rankings(sc loss). I parlayed a few spreads together for big possible wins and put $350 on nc covering that spread.

Ok so I was 1.5 points off, but they still won. That game was silly... Like this picture below. Sec/ESPN displays Charleston southern' COACHES POLL RANKING alongside Alabamas playoff ranking when Charleston southern is a d-2 team, lol. And Yes their coaches poll was better than their main stat/AP ranking.

See what happens when Ohio St. plays their first game against a ranked team  :lolsign:
Ohio St. gets beat at home by a team playing with their 2nd & 3rd string QB's.
The defending national champions can only gain 132 yards and 5 first downs for the game.
Their players begin to whine and blame others for their defeat and tell people they are done with this, I'm leaving for the NFL.
http://espn.go.com/ncf/story/_/id/14188908/ezekiel-elliott-ohio-state-buckeyes-points-finger-coaching-staff-loss-michigan-state-spartans

I would like to say that Ohio St. was the most over-rated team in the rankings but Florida holds that honor.  When a 2-8 small school like Florida Atlantic comes to your place and outplays you in just about every statistical category you are the #8 team in the country, you are not even in the top 25.  On the bright side, Florida got 10 wins this season.  Florida will lose the rest of their games this year and drop closer to the ranking they deserve.

Notre Dame beat a 3-7 Boston College team by 3 points.  Notre Dame will probably move up, because the committee love them.  I really hope Stanford takes them out.

Oklahoma St. is no longer undefeated, Baylor took them out tonight  :yessign:  Now if they can beat Oklahoma next week that will really mix things up.

Yup. Bye bye buckeyes.

Don't feel too bad about the Gators performance today. Georgia played Georgia Southern tonight and was a cunt hair away from losing. That would've FOR SURE sealed coach Mark Richt's fate had they lost. Would've been the first time since 1929 that UGA lost a game to another school from the state of Georgia besides rival Georgia Tech (Oglethorpe University vs UGA 1929).

I'm gonna go ahead and throw in the towel for unc's playoff hopes. I think 2 3 loss teams will be ahead of them this go around(Oregon and ole miss). The committee is fucked up. NC at 10-1 coming off a win @ Virginia tech may even DROP in the rankings.

It is screwed up, but South Carolina losing to the Citadel will hurt North Carolina.
Even if UNC had won against South Carolina, I think they would be behind some of the 1 loss teams, because the committee would not give UNC much credit for that win because South Carolina would be a 2-9 team that just lost to the Citadel.

There is still a lot of football to be played, but I do think UNC will get screwed even if they win out and only have the 1 loss, because the committee will put them behind at least 4 other 1 loss teams.  The committee will put the following 1 loss teams ahead of UNC if it works out this way.

Alabama
Iowa\Mich St.\Ohio St.
Notre Dame
Oklahoma\Baylor\Oklahoma St.

If Stanford beats Notre Dame, the committee might put a 2 loss Stanford ahead of UNC which would be really screwed up.

I think 3 of the 4 playoff spots are practically locked up.
1 - Alabama
2 - The winner of the Big 10 (a undefeated Iowa or a 1 loss Mich St. or Ohio St.).
3 - 1 loss team from the Big 12 (Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., or Baylor)

The other spot could open up for UNC.

If Stanford beats Notre Dame that may open up a spot.  If UNC can beat Clemson by double digits they should get the nod over a 2 loss Stanford.

Florida would make it in the playoffs if they win out, but I see that ending next week when they play Florida St.

All depends on if they can beat Clemson to become ACC champs. Which is still assuming they beat NC State next week. And that's ALSO assuming that Clemson gets a win on South Carolina next week as well. South Carolina isn't quite as horrible as their record shows they are. They've had one bitch of a schedule this year. And after losing a really close one to fucking Citadel of all people and then having to play the #1 team in the country the next week... they're gonna throw everything they have into that game. People say South Carolina will never beat Clemson, and I tend to agree, but we've seen stranger shit this year, never say never.

the committee would not give UNC much credit for that win because South Carolina would be a 2-9 team that just lost to the Citadel.

Nah, they have 3 wins this year. UNC, Central Florida, and Vanderbilt.

Nah. Ohio State's fucking done. This is what's so bad about how the bullshit committee and the polls do things. Losing one of your first 3 games of the season is much preferable to losing one of your last 3 games. Pretty much if you lose from November onward, your national championship hopes disa-fucking-ppear. Like I said, if Clemson should happen to lose to South Carolina next week but come back and run up 70 points against UNC in the ACC championship, Clemson is still out of the national championship picture. It would happen just like that, and everyone damn well KNOWS it, and everyone would think it's bullshit, and no one would do anything about it. ::)

Florida would make it in the playoffs if they win out, but I see that ending next week when they play Florida St.

Ye of little faith again. I'd put my money on the Gators.

Yea there is definitely a lot that could happen to totally turn the rankings upside down.

I said South Carolina would have been a 2-9 team if UNC would have beat them in that first game, so the committee would have looked at them even worse than they due now at 3-8.  Central Florida is worse than the Gators, they are 0-10.

Failclowns, haha! Andrew Luck is out for the Colts, they have goddamn Matt Hasslebeck in there at QB, and they still lose with a 14 point lead at halftime.

At 6-3, they were actually holding the 2nd NFC wild card spot along with Green Bay, but now that they're 6-4, probably not. And most of their opponents for the rest of the season are NFC South division opponents. They have an 0-2 record against other NFC South opponents so far. Time to "Rise Up"? Nope. Time to fucking IMPLODE! C'mon, Falcons. Suck. Suck like I know you can.

I hope they lose every game for the rest of the season. And I hope because of it, owner Arthur Blank finally fires GM Thomas Dimitrov like he SHOULD'VE done at the end of last season rather than firing coach Mike Smith. Then I hope he fires the new coach too. Fuck Dan Quinn. He has no business being a head coach.

I hear ya regarding Atlanta, but imagine how we Aint's fans feel.  I gave Ryan a little slack the last couple of years because it looked like he was calling decent defensive schemes, but had players with poor execution of said schemes.  But after 3 years of seeing piss poor tackling and horrible angles toward the ball, I have to conclude that's terrible coaching.  The Saint's had a lot of turnover in players and have a bunch of young players on defense, but how do you get to the pro level and not know how to tackle?

College - Clemson looks to be the cream of the crop. I wouldn't be upset if they put a beat-down on Alabama in the playoffs or Championship.  Of course, the last few games of the season will have something to say about that.

Same shit with Atlanta on defense. It's almost like it's the first defenders precisely expressed JOB to miss tackling the receiver. If the opponent throws it to a receiver and there's only one defender between him and the endzone, it's gonna be a touchdown. But luckily, there's usually a safety or a corner or another linebacker nearby to be that 2nd defender who's job it apparently IS to NOT miss the tackle like the first guy did. Which would be great, except for the fact that the 2nd guy usually only gets there to do the job only AFTER the 1st down marker gets passed. ::)

It's EVERY DAMN TIME. The first man ALWAYS misses. And the only thing I can think of is he's charging at the receiver so damned hard trying to put a huge hit on them and knock the ball out that they overrun the guy. And turnovers and incompletions are nice, but... fuck. Only when they actually HAPPEN. When the only thing that happens with consistency and success is MISSING THE TACKLE COMPLETELY... maybe it's time to formulate another strategy, ya think?

Carolina creamed the skins yesterday, I'm sure y'all saw. I've never considered cam to be in that top tier of quarterbacks(Rogers, Brady, manning) or even the next 3 nipping at their heels. But holy shit, what he's doing for Carolina is unbelievable. I've been waiting for them(him) to stumble, similar to unc, but he hasn't. Seems like it's his year.

Even if unc DESTROYS nc state and Clemson, I'd bet anything they'd be #5 haha. Unc played two d-2 teams. One is undefeated except for getting spanked by nc and is ranked higher than Charleston southern that Alabama just played. The other has a winning record. (Nc at, and Delaware respectively). The committee looks even more poorly on this than the sc loss. But it's not their fault Tennessee and Ohio state backed out. With Illinois and South Carolina on the schedule, the need to play out of conference was there.

There's power 5 teams worse than the better d2 teams anyway. Teams that play Kansas, New Mexico State , UCF, etc are essentially playing fcs/d2 teams....

And yes, I think Ohio state was scared. Everything to lose yet nothing to gain from playing a decent team that the committee isn't a fan of...except taking on a different challenge to help your team get better and progress.

Bucs QB Jameis Winston ties NFL rookie record with 5 TD passes - http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14195902/tampa-bay-buccaneers-qb-jameis-winston-ties-nfl-rookie-record-5-td-passes

:WTF: Jameis has the potential to be good, so this is a surprise, but not a major one.  My main concern is that he is going to do something stupid off the field.  It may not happen this year, because I'm sure the Bucs have someone watching him carefully.  I still think next year he will do something stupid off the field once the Bucs give him more slack.

Re: The Official 2015-2016 Football Season Thread

Carolina creamed the skins yesterday, I'm sure y'all saw. I've never considered cam to be in that top tier of quarterbacks(Rogers, Brady, manning) or even the next 3 nipping at their heels. But holy shit, what he's doing for Carolina is unbelievable. I've been waiting for them(him) to stumble, similar to unc, but he hasn't. Seems like it's his year.

Nah, ever since his last year in college at Auburn, I knew he was damn good. Any team that would've had him at QB that year would've more than likely been contending for the title. And when a team has one single player who is that big of a deciding factor, then that one player is probably gonna do great things at the pro level. QB's as good as him can make average pro receivers look a lot better than they are just because he has a good sense of field awareness, predicting movement, and instantly seeing the correct angles to throw the ball at. Receivers don't have to jump 5 miles high or do all the crazy shit guys like Julio Jones does when you just throw the ball at them in the right spot every time. You add in the fact that he can run faster than many linebackers, and it makes him even more of a threat to a defense. As an NFC South division Falcons fan (even though I'm more of a Falcons "heckler" this year), I was always worried about playing the Saints because they had a sharpshooter like Drew Brees at QB. But I was never really all that worried about beating Carolina or Tampa Bay. And then Cam Newton showed up in Carolina and I was like, "...Oh shit. Not good." And it was deja vu all over again. Because as a Georgia Bulldogs fan in the previous year, I heard Cam Newton was gonna be starting QB for Auburn that year, and I said the same thing then too.

Bucs QB Jameis Winston

Yeah, and then fast-forward a couple years, and I hear that Jameis Winston is gonna be the QB in Tampa. Yet again I said, "...God dammit." Because Matt Ryan was a great QB to have in the NFC South division back when his only competition was Drew Brees. But now he's going up against Drew Brees PLUS two Heisman winning QB's, one of which is Cam Newton. And now it's like, "Jesus finger fucking Christ, can you folks make this mountain any steeper or what?"

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
