Ford's new 2014 F-150 Tremor.

It sports a 365hp 3.5L turbocharged EcoBoost v6 instead of the standard v8. Supposedly this turbocharged v6 actually packs more horsepower than the v8. It's a bit of a trick though. It's really only about 5 more hp, so it's really not enough that it makes much of a difference. Also, even though its a v6 and claims to be "EcoBoost", it really only gets about 1 or 2 mpg more than the v8. So if someone's looking for a full-size f150 class truck with mileage more like 4 cylinder Ranger or Toyata Tacoma, you're getting duped if a salesman tells you they are comparable. Not to mention that this motor is carrying a turbocharger. They add great acceleration power to an engine, but they don't last forever. Turbochargers can be very expensive to replace. You could end up spending 1300 bucks on a new turbo alone, not including any other parts and labor. In my opinion, unless you're really hands-on with your truck and you maintain the shit out of it like a little baby, I would suggest anyone stay away from turbochargers and superchargers when purchasing a vehicle. It's just one more thing to bite you in the wallet later.

The body design is pretty cool though. It's got rugged boxy lines. Looks pretty mean. I'm not impressed with their choice of finish though. That two-tone stripe down the side smacks of shit you'd see on some rusted out early 80's Ford Escort hatchback shit-mobile.

I'm pretty bummed that manufacturers are shifting more and more towards fitting motors with turbochargers to achieve more hp and better mpg. It makes a lot more sense to me to simply use a smaller and more efficient engine in a lighter overall vehicle.
