Dunno if you're familiar with these cars, but a McLaren is basically a formula 1 indy car with a windshield, doors, and a radio. Although... that doesn't even begin to cover what all is crammed into one of these cars. Years ago, the price tag on them was about $950,000. I suspect those were probably a little different though. This model I'd imagine would probably consist of a 100% carbon fiber body. Sounds like they've done absolutely everything they can to cut weight on this thing to give it more thrust... like it needed any. :D This is one of those cars that would take getting used to. Someone turns you loose with one in a wide open abandoned parking lot that spans for a clear square mile, you mash the gas and see how fast it'll accelerate, and it'll literally make you SICK and sink your eyeballs into the back of your skull, it's that powerful. And it comes standard with speed activated motorized spoilers, cowls, splitters, you name it, everything imaginable to keep this baby glued firmly to the street, even when cresting a hill at 130 mph. Any other car might go airborne, but these things will stay magnetized to the road.

It's a beautiful car just to look at it all on it's own. But when you realize how much thoughtful engineering and automotive wizardry went into every square inch of this design, it just makes you go... OH WOW. It's just a masterpiece. Lamborghini and Porsche and Ferrari ain't got shit on McLaren.

At the end, he says something to the effect of "The Nissan does more with less." And that's your typical American vs. import design mentality. Americans want bigger, beefier cars, and even though lots of people claim to give a shit about the environment, the sales numbers prove that they forget all that crap when shopping for a soccer mom SUV. They prefer some beast looking thing that sits higher and gives the illusion of a safer vehicle even though countless tests have proven that their higher center of gravity and poor base make them prone to rollover (and a higher probability of serious injury or death) when they slide sideways at highway speeds. So yeah, the Japs know how to squeeze more out of a smaller engine. And don't get me wrong, they make plenty of monstrosity SUV's themselves... and they sell most of them to OUR dumb asses.

On the other hand, like the video said, Corvettes and similar American cars like the Viper are pretty notorious for the understeer. Just looking at the two cars will tell you that the Nissan is probably going to be more balanced. The cockpit on the Vette sits further back. But performance and handling at a certain point depends on the skill of the driver. I wouldn't call the understeer as much of a design "flaw" as I would a "feature". If you know how to predict it and work it, the understeer can be used to drift off the exits of tighter corners and set up the next corner entry. Then again... who am I kidding, it's always better to STICK to the damn road than not to. And here we have yet another example of the American vs import design. Americans wanna slide and drift out of turns... because it just looks cooler, like some kinda shit we saw in an action movie. I mean sometimes a corner is so tight that you really have no choice BUT to slide into it. But it's always gonna be better to not screech the tires and have the ability to have the torque constantly utilized. Otherwise, folks like Panoz and McLaren wouldn't have spent millions of dollars researching and developing ways to make their alcohol powered race cars stick to the track like glue.

Then again, if Corvette started including all the shit that made these supercars handle so well, no one would be able to afford a Corvette anymore. And then you have the whole "look" issue. People wanna buy a Corvette that looks like a Corvette. If they did away with the raked out front end to better balance the car, people would go apeshit and sales would tank. If Corvette was really concerned about making the best handling and performing car they possibly could, you'd see them dropping the engine block in the trunk and moving the cockpit forward like Porsche, Ferrari and Lambo. But that shit is unAmerican, HELL NO! Engine goes in front, dead hookers and meth lab supplies in the trunk! U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Good. Get the damn wheel outta these peoples hands who INSIST on being on their goddamn phones the second they sit down behind the wheel. Too many people don't respect how dangerous cars are. Too many people aren't responsible enough to be turned loose on public streets in a 1000+ lb death machine. Sick of these dumbass motherfuckers cutting me off merging into my lane on the expressway without signaling or checking their mirrors at all. 9 times out of 10, they're got a fucking phone shoved in their ear. And while it's just plain rude as fuck and you should have more consideration for people around you, you people should also be more considerate of your own cars. Because when you do that shit, know that I have no problem following you somewhere, riding up beside you at a red light, and then kicking several dents in your door or breaking one of your side mirrors off. "HEY BUDDY, YOU SHOULDN'T KICK MY CAR!", "Yeah? Well you shouldn't have almost fucking KILLED me, asshole." Cuz what's normally just a fender-bender in a car can be a fatality on a motorcycle. So if I ever ride up beside you on an off ramp and start booting craters into your doors, know that you fucking deserve every last one of them. All things considered, you're lucky that's all I do.
