Not if Atlanta decides to do nothing but fuck up every possession like they did against Arizona last week. They won, but JESUS CHRIST, they played like SHIT. 5 or 6 turnovers. I suppose it's still quite impressive though. I mean how the fuck does a team turn the ball over 6 fucking times and still walk away with a win, even to one of the weakest teams in the NFL? Hopefully OLB Sean Weatherspoon will be back from injury soon. The whole defense suffers without him at the line.

He's making the argument that the NFL should do away with the field goal after touchdown attempt in order to "make the game safer". At first I was ready to kill this guy and piss on his grave. But then I read his referenced stats since 2009 concerning PAT's and it's overall effect on the individual games and playoffs, etc. According to his stats, it does appear to be pretty pointless. However... I don't see how merely blocking for a field goal kick is really all that dangerous. In my mind, it's LESS dangerous than normal defensive plays where a defender would have more room to gain sprinting speed before colliding with another player.

I mean the NFL is gonna do whatever the hell it wants... as evidenced by the bullshit of kickoffs being moved up an extra 5 yards to prevent more kickoff returns. But personally... I hope the NFL does not listen to this guy. PAT has been part of the game for as long as anyone living can remember, no need to change it now just because some whiney New England fans are PMSing because their precious Gronkowski got an injury. But on the other hand... according to the evidence this guy presents, PAT's don't really matter anyway.

An interesting proposition nonetheless. Your thoughts and views on this, folks?

New England got what they deserved.  They are winning 52-24 late in the fourth quarter, they should be running the ball and killing the clock.
Instead, they are acting like they are behind and have to score.  So they go down and score to make the score 59-24 with under 4 minutes left in the game and Gronkowski gets hurt on the PAT, that's Karma Belichick.  Let see how those extra 7 points help you for the next 6 weeks.

Good prediction; I would not be surprised to see that Super Bowl...especially since it would be brothers coaching against one another and that would be a $ maker. And it is really all about $ in the end. S.F. looked the best of any NFC team I've seen all year in their beat down of the Bears. Houston may have just enough to take the AFC, though. It all comes down to who can get hot in the playoffs. It's kinda funny that the best team doesn't necessarily win the Super Bowl, so who knows?

Leave it like it is now. The occasional miss or block happens, and the opportunity to try for two keeps it interesting. If any rules need to be changed, it's the unintentional head shot penalties and the HUGE advantage given to receivers vs defenders. 45-38 games don't always mean it was a good game to watch; for me, anyway. But points = $$$ to TV apparently. And I hate domes. Give me dirt, outside, in the wind, rain or snow. Basketball is meant to be played inside.....not football.

Either way, should be fun to watch what happens in the coming weeks.

saints vs 49ers this sunday is pretty much a playoff game for the saints, if they don't win the season is pretty much donezo

the defenders are going to have an extremely difficult job in the upcoming seasons as the league cracks down on basically every head contacting play aside from running the ball, as well as the "defenseless player" and "roughing the passer" penalties... not to mention the amount of contact allowed by a defensive back compared to the amount of hand checking and what not a receiver can get away with is pretty unfair, steadily getting more biased..(poor ed reed)

I was worried about FL against FL State because of the way they played against some of the small schools.  I was hopeful because I knew FL had played against much better teams overall.  It was nice to see FL step-up and play the way I knew they could.

I don't necessarily think that's the case. There are a few SEC teams the past 2 years that have been pretty terrible. It's not "every" team in the SEC that gets to start to year off ranked high or ranked at all. This year, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and South Carolina all started off ranked in the top 10 I think. But I think that's because of how many talented star players these teams feature, and I think that has a lot to do with what position teams start the year off with. When I look at who plays for Georgia currently that is expected to hit the NFL draft in the earlier rounds, and who from Georgia in the past 5-10 years is already in the NFL, I gotta say... it's pretty nice to be a Georgia fan. Seems like we've been stacked to the roof with exceptional talent the past 4 years. Honestly, if I could pick and choose players from the past 5 years of UGA rosters to field one team, I'd have a team capable of competing with and probably beating any NFL team you'd put them against.

Everyone's busy looking at Notre Dame this year, but everyone's also completely overlooked Ohio State. They are undefeated. If it weren't for head coach Jim Tressel being fired for NCAA rules violations making Ohio State bowl ineligible this year, the SEC would probably be out of the BCS title contention altogether. And expect them to continue kicking ass next year too.

As for THIS YEAR... I'm predicting that the SEC Championship game basically IS the BCS title game, because I don't think Notre Dame will beat Alabama or Georgia.

Yeah, that's one thing I thought was very unfair last year about the BCS title game. LSU won the SEC west, Georgia won the SEC east... so they play each other in the SEC Championship game, LSU being the #1 team in the country and knowing that losing it meant they lose out on a trip to the BCS title game. Meanwhile Alabama is runner-up in the SEC west, and gets a bye from the championship weekend, more time to heal up, no bruises or injuries from having to play that Championship game, more tape of their opponent to study, etc etc. It was really weird and downright miraculous that it worked out that those two got a rematch in the biggest game of the whole year, but it certainly wasn't fair for LSU. They kicked ass and fought hard all year, including that one game in which they buckled down and slugged it out to a narrow victory against Alabama... and what do they get for all that hard work? The BCS smacks em on the ass and sends them into the SEC championship game while Alabama gets sit home watching it on TV... pretty much the equivalent of handing them a revolver and saying, "Here, you want a BCS title? You gotta play russian roulette just one more time against the 3rd best team in the SEC. HAVE FUN, ASSHOLES!"
