A place where I can go and wait in line longer than 2 or 3 minutes for some asshole to pour me what SHOULD be a simple cup of coffee, and then charge me 4 to 8 times what it's actually worth? FUCK YEAH! LET'S GO RIGHT NOW!!!!

 

Dunkin Donuts is cheaper, better, and still comes in small, medium, or large.

COFFEE IS NOT A MEAL. Not gonna pay a meal price for just a fucking beverage.

Wife Loves it.   Her my daughter and her friend all came in the door with starbucks cups last night. 

There isnt one close,  so the $4 coffee usually comes from other similar chains.  Einstein Bros is ok,  I can at least get an over priced breakfast sandwich.  Actually, I dont even do that there anymore.  Something about their sausage makes me wanna gag halfway thru (I'm not gay,  just sayin)

D.D.'s breakfast croissant is fine, I have yet to get one that wasnt put together by a one eyed 80 year old down syndrome sufferer.  But they taste ok with a little reconstruction.  The wife is the one that actually goes there when she goes out.
I go to Einstein Bros because I can never figure out what to add to any of D.D.'s "fancy coffee" selections to make it right for her.   Not that she's all that picky.  It's once a week on the weekend, and she's fine with me coming home with a large mcdonalds coffee.   But I love her to death, and a big cup of something with steamed milk and and topped with whipped cream and drizzled with caramel or something is the least I can do to kick off the weekend for her.  Monday thru Friday its home brew.  We have an ok one cup brewer..  not those pods or anything, actual ground coffee and filters.

I can't really stand the stuff,  other than in the dead of winter when we have long hours at work and its freezing.  Then I'll take some with me for the trip in.  Get a little speed buzz going right before I start.

For the longest time, I only drank it in the winter months too, usually while puffing on a Camel or a Marlboro. But since I started dipping AND smoking these roll-your-own cigs full-time, I still find myself in the habit of having to have at least one cup of coffee every morning right when I get up and have my first smoke of the day. Gonna try to cut out the smoking completely this fall or winter, which is probably just gonna make it even harder to quit since I always drink more coffee in the cold seasons.

I have one of those K-cup single cup brewers at home, and I used to use one of those mesh screen filter cups and use the Dunkin Donuts grounds in it. And the stuff that comes ground in a bag is still great, but the filter cup ends up getting tiny sediment ground particles in the coffee which I hate. It's also sometimes a pain to clean it out when you want another cup. You gotta dump it out in the trash, then wash the rest of it out into the sink, yadda yadda. Just easier to go ahead and use the actual Dunkin Donuts K-cup packs. Not cheaper... just easier. I don't know how the plastic disposable cups can keep the little particles out while a metal screen can't do the job, but whatever.

I'm actually kinda hoping this coffee maker shits itself sooner than later so I can have a good excuse to go out and buy a regular old 8-10 cup basket filter coffee maker again. It's pretty retarded paying 15 bucks or so for a pack of 16 K-cups when I can pay 10 bucks for a bag of the grounds that'll make 50 cups. It's also a fucking BITCH to descale this K-cup brewer too. You gotta stand there for 2 hours or more running plain water through it cup after cup right after flushing the distilled vinegar from it otherwise your coffee will taste vinegary as hell... which it still does afterwards for a while anyway no matter how much water you run through it.

I have a keurig too, my mom gave it to me for the holidays last year. More expensive, but convenient. I've been traveling while working so it's been ok for me.

you could buy filters and cut out a stack of them in circles that fit your mesh basket.

It kind of worked on mine, but you always get a little something in the bottom.

I got rid of the mesh basket.

After a while my wife mentioned the little particles it let thru, so I tried a few things to fix that.
Finally ended up taking an entire basket style filter (it's labeled 1-4 cups) and shoving the whole thing in there in the basic shape of the mesh cup.  Works really good and haven't had an issue since.

But,  after this one craps out we will most likely end up with a keurig too.  I don't see that happening any time soon.
Though the wife could sabotage it I guess...  or it could get knocked into the sink..  or fall on the floor in a heavy traffic area and get stepped on..
