I HATE the pause button for live TV.
Thought it was a great idea, but my kids abuse it WAY to much.

I ask a yes or no question, wait for them to grab the remote, find the pause button, hit it, look over to me... "What? Oh, yeah" unpause.

Literally cannot talk to them while the TV is on without them doing this.

I'm close to digging the button out with a toothpick or something

Maybe just grab the remote before I even open my mouth to ask anything...

Thats about it, I don't hate much.

I can see where that might get irritating, but if you look at it the right way, they're pausing the distraction center to focus in on you, rather than getting pissed that they can't follow what's going on with the show they're watching because they have the TV blaring and you asking them a question simultaneously. Of course, if they pause when it's in the middle of a commercial break, then yeah they're just being assholes. lol

On a related note about kids, I cannot fucking stand stupid fucking people in restaurants or stores with screaming babies or kids, and the parents don't even TRY to discipline them. Not even a "be quiet" or a "callate" for down here with all the Mexicans. Even worse, they don't even try to get up and take the idiot brat outside and deal with him away from other people. No, they just let the baby SCREAM constantly until someone gets fed up with it and screams at them.

If you couldn't tell, that someone is usually me. I've literally had to call people fucking stupid bad parents to their face, just to get them to discipline their children. When I'm sitting in a restaurant where I paid $30-$50/person for a damn fine dinner, I'll be goddamned if I'm going to have it ruined by some country bumpkin fucks that have no idea how to control their children.

What's even worse is when the parents actually get mad at you for "making a scene." I most impolitely tell them that their shit-ass kid is the one that's making the scene, and I'm trying to remedy it by letting their stupid asses know that, OMFG YES! IT'S CAUSING ME DISTRESS! I wouldn't get up and come to your table and let you know about it if I was happy about it. You fucking stupid hick. Leave your stupid, ugly, ignorant waste of semen kid at home if you can't teach it to act right.

Maybe it's just because I live in Texas that I have to deal with this so much, but it seems like damn near every time I go out somewhere, I have to deal with this shit. Hell, sometimes I start screaming WITH the kids it gets so frustrating.

This is why I hate going out in public. Either it's the assholes with their screaming unruly children disturbing me, or it's the other assholes getting mad at the asshole with screaming unruly children who feel the need to create conflict and be confrontational with the parents of said screaming unruly children.

There are proper ways of handling this type of situation when children are involved and confrontation is not a good option for the sake of those children. You simply call your waiter over or get up and go talk to the restaurant owner or manager on duty and tell them, "Can someone from your staff please go over and ask these people to quiet down their children, or else I will have to find some other place to patron from now on." Let the house tell them to keep it down. They have the right to refuse service to people over such things, and they will undoubtedly be less confrontational about it. If it doesn't solve the problem after a while, talk to the manager again and tell them you are leaving and will not be returning again. The fact is you don't HAVE to go there, and they NEED your business. If they can't give you a pleasant experience, don't give them your business and don't choose to go there.

Taking responsibility for actions isn't a bad thing. To be quite honest, saying that is in essence saying "I have no remorse for those affected by my actions". Everyone fucks up, manning up and taking your medicine can even restore reputations to an extent. I think you might be pleased and even change your mind about that if you had some good things to take responsibility for.
