God damn, does it suck to be a Cowboys fan or what? 2 weeks in a row you lose the game (or at least the opporunity to send it to OT) by a mere shanked or tipped field gold kick.

I have no complaints about it at all though. I love seeing Jerry Jones pissed off. He can buy the best new stadium in the country, but he'll never be able to buy a Superbowl. :D

That would suck. Good thing I swore them off this year. They're still in the wildcard hunt, but I have no doubt they'll fall out of that at the last second possible.

Either that or miraculously they will win the Superbowl this year, making me really disappointed that I spent the whole year hating them. That's just their style to do some dumb shit like that.

I need to revise my Bucs prediction, they suck worse than I had predicted.  I predicted 8-8 (at best) and now at 4-9 that is not possible.  I don't think they will win another game this year, new prediction 4-12.

Yeah, a 12 game (3 month) regular season goes quicker than vaes mom on a street corner. Sucks that the past 2 Saturdays have been virtually void of football other than the Army-Navy game last Saturday, so what, Navy always wins. Past 10 times Navy's won I think. Retarded thing is that Navy used to be coached by Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson, and even with him at GT now, they still pretty much go all triple-option run. Total snoozefest. Like a blowjob from vaes mom.

Good thing is that starting this Saturday until Monday, January 9th, there's a game on every single fucking night, whether it's NFL or college football. Thank god. Something to watch besides crappy xmas movies. I'm planning on getting a few large kegs Friday night, probably some Miller Lite. Got a few friends passing through over the holidays. This way they won't be out riding around shitfaced hammered and get caught in one of the DUI roadblocks or speedtraps they'll undoubtedly have set up. My TV's bigger than any of the TV's at any of the bars anywhere around here. Free cold beer, football on a bigscreen HD, ladies working their cute little butts in the kitchen, no reason to go anywhere else.

I would like to see Alabama play LSU again because I think they are the best two teams in the country.
It would probably  be a ugly defensive battle again, but they are the only teams in the country who can shutdown each other.
I think LSU or Alabama would beat any other team by at least two touchdowns.

I can't disagree with any of what you said in that quote.  However; I see one problem with the re-match. If Alabama wins, the two teams beat each other and that was their only loss. That makes it inconclusive, in my feeble mind, as to which team is #1.  In that scenario, LSU won on Alabama's home field and if Alabama beats LSU in the Super Dome (Sorry, Mercedes Super Dome) that's pretty much a win on their turf. Wouldn't it be nice if they just seeded the top four teams with a #1 vs #4 playing the winner of a #2 vs #3 match up? Yea, it's a playoff, but there is no way you can convince me that the bowls wouldn't still make money, the TV networks would still make money AND the schools would, as usual, all make money. And frankly, that is what it's all about.

I'm going to hold off on my prediction because players sometimes get arrested or hurt during the long gap between regular season and bowl games. I do predict it will be more high scoring than the first game.

old fashioned

Old fashioned indeed. Like football in the 1920's before the forward pass was brought in, when they didn't wear helmets and smashed their skulls together like mountain rams, and back when drinking alcohol was illegal. As you can see, I think we've made at least 3 great progressions as a football watching society. Personally, I get bored seeing a team doing nothing but run it every down. It's not so boring when they do it effectively, but lets face it, since Paul Johnson had that 1st great season coaching Georgia Tech into the Orange Bowl, everyone's gotten wise to it and found that it's pretty easy to keep bottled up with proper defense calls.

As far as the BCS Title Game, I think LSU will probably fall on their face in the first half like they did against Georgia, then come out in the 3rd and 4th, turn it on, and possibly win. I guess the decider will be how MUCH Alabama can lead by the half. They gotta go up by enough points at the half to make it too hard for LSU to fight back.

And I pretty much agree with Mule's sentiments. I never thought the voters would've allowed a team that already lost to #1 get a 2nd chance at them in the title game. But that's the BCS for you. Sometimes it just makes very little sense. Like how Georgia was ranked #14 before playing LSU in the SEC Championship game, then fall to #16 in their bowl appearance... meanwhile South Carolina was ranked #12 or #13 before that game, and now they're #9 after having basically a bye week by not appearing in the SEC Championship game. Too much shit depends on too much that has nothing to do with one teams own conference or division. Doesn't always seem 100% fair, but with so many god damn teams, it's nearly impossible to make the ranking system 100% fair and fool-proof. What the hell can you do.

Watched the Falcons-Jaguars game tonight. Wow. I kinda figured Atlanta would whoop their ass, but I didn't really think Jacksonville would HELP Atlanta do it like they did. They did a quick interview of the new Jaguars owner from the sidelines, and he seemed a little upbeat and optimistic... but I gotta think their new rookie QB ain't gonna be the #1QB next year. I've seen Jacksonville play a couple times this year, and every time I've felt totally embarassed for Jacksonville. Gabbert has no idea at all how to hold on to the ball. He has no idea how to "feel" the rush and maneuver in the pocket. He starts dropping back and back and back and never gets rid of it, and before you know it, he's sacked for a fucking 20 yard loss on one play. Buddy, some heads are gonna fuckin' ROLL throughout that roster in the off-season, I guarantee it.

I would be all for a college playoff system, they do it in the smaller divisions.  I like the 4 team concept Krill mentioned, but here is another possible way.

You take the conference champions from all of the major conferences, bracket them and let the bracket get played out.  I know some good teams would get left out (Alabama, Stanford), so just to add some arguments maybe you add a couple of wildcard teams to the mix to fill the bracket.  Wildcards could be a team that did not win their conference but is still a top 10 ranked team, of course you would have to limit the wildcards to a number that makes the bracket work.

The Falcons looked good against the Jags lastnight, but it was the Jags so I am not totally on the Falcons bandwagon.  The Falcons lack consistency, they have looked good lately but I think it is just a matter of time before the old Falcons will resurface.

True, it was the Jaguars, but it was also still Matt Ryan throwing the ball, ...and Julio Jones and Roddy White were actually CATCHING the passes this time instead of letting them hit the ground. Quite refreshing considering, #1, how much Roddy White is getting paid, and #2, how many picks over two years Atlanta gave up to gamble on having Julio Jones still available for a first round 6th overall pick in the draft. Basically, I'm just saying it's, uh..., nice... to see them BOTH peforming like everyone expects them to for once this year. All year long, Roddy White has been playing like a butterfingers, and Jones hasn't caught very many passes at all. I think this past Thursday makes a grand total of 2 (possibly 3) touchdowns for Julio Jones so far this year. Everyone expected him to have at least 8 to 10 or even more at this point.

The Yucks lost their 8th straight game lastnight.  They started 4-2 and are now 4-10.  It all started when they went to play in Britain, so I'm blaming Adam.

I dunno man, I kinda think the lockout and fucked up off-season routines maybe contributed to the jinxing that a few of the teams are experiencing. Some teams seem to have found some surprising good luck (Buffalo, Houston, Detroit, SAN FRANSISCOwtf!?!), while others who should be front-runners are rolling nothing but snake eyes and 7's. I'm not saying that Tampa should be kicking ass, but they shouldn't be getting their asses handed to them quite as consistently as they are.

At this point, I think Tampa and Jacksonville should just TRY to lose the rest of their games, then pick some good rising star rookie wide recievers in the draft. Neither one of them, especially Jacksonville, have any really good star wideouts. For fucks sake, if it weren't for Jones-Drew, Jacksonville would have NO offense at all. It's fuckin' sad that such a talented back like Maurice Jones-Drew is basically wasting his best football playing years with such a shitty team.

I agree, Tampa should throw the rest of their games so they can get a better draft position.

Jacksonville without Drew might be winless.
