Since football season is right around the corner, I guess it ain't too early to start a new thread about it.

Last I read, they were more than likely NOT going to continue the lockout through the season and leave us football psychos out in the cold. But there WAS talk that the league was going push ahead with it's plan to extend the regular season a few extra games and cut training camps shorter. I hope it doesn't come to that, but since they're a bunch of greedy bastards that want a few extra games to rake in ticket sales on, I have little doubt that it will happen eventually.

And now for something completely different.

The Falcons CUT Norwood????? I know he has been hurt a bunch, but I think that guy is still a player with alot of untapped potential.

Yeah, I kinda saw that coming. He was out all year last year so I suppose that the Falcons are thinking, "well we made it as the #1 seed without him last year, so who cares, maybe we can trade up and upgrade the position." Hopefully they have enough faith in Michael Turner that won't be wasted hopes and dreams. Their 3rd RB Jason Snelling really wasn't anything impressive last year. He had ONE good game where he rushed for big numbers consistently, but the rest of the year he was just "meh". I'd anticipating them maybe making a last minute trade of some wide receiver for another runningback, and they definitely won't be letting go of Roddy White, so I'm afraid maybe they'll be looking to trade Brian Finneran, which would be a MISTAKE.

Looks like a lot of oddball trading going on. I heard something about Chad Johnson (Ochocinco... did he change his fucking name again?) possibly going to the Patriots, Albert Haynesworth too. Sucks that Reggie Bush is going to Miami. They don't have a chance, and I'm afraid that environment is only going to help his stats get even worse.

as a Saints fan, I am glad reggie is gone...wasn't worth the money...ect..as far as his stats go in Miami...he should put up decent numbers if he can stay healthy(I HIGHLY FUCKING DOUBT IT) seeing that their two main running backs(ronnie brown and ricky williams) are free agents(not sure what their status is tbh)....

I think he's definitely got the potential to do great things. He was bobbing and weaving his way to 1st downs 2 years ago with good success, I just think all the Kardashian and Heisman bullshit on top of coming off of a SuperBowl win got him distracted from his game. Seems like some of these players that come off of a SuperBowl victory become convinced that they are God's gift to the NFL and don't have to really try all that hard to win anymore.

God dammit man. It's so GREAT to be talking about football again. For a while there I was afraid the lockout would continue. What the hell would I do this fall without any NFL?

I just hope that Atlanta can repeat last years success and get a good shot at the playoffs. Tony Gonzalez ain't getting any younger and if he decides to retire, they'll be hard pressed to find another tight end as talented and experienced.

I was kinda hoping they'd get the chance to draft AJ Green from UGA, but I'll take Julio Jones too, fuck yeah. Maybe AJ Green can make all the receptions in Cincinnati that Ochocinco and T.O. were too famous to worry about catching.

He's a decent punter I suppose, I don't remember any kickoff touchdowns being scored against Atlanta last year, but you could always attribute that to the special teams kickoff unit doing their fucking jobs correctly too, because it's hard to run one all the way back for 6 if you've got people defending it properly. God damn, those people running the Bucs must be out of their fucking minds. Yeah, y'all enjoy your 19 million dollar punter, dumbasses. Meanwhile, we'll hold on to our field goal kicker who was the sole reason we came out on top of a few games last year... wait a minute... they're telling me that they released him too. And WR Michael Jenkins? Yeah, glad these dumb shits in charge of filling out the Falcons roster didn't do something different for once and actually KEEP the good players and dump the unproductive ones. That would've made me think they had a functioning fucking brain. We can't have that.

Don't get me wrong, he's a great punter and everything, but 19mil? I don't even know how long his contract is, but even if it's 20 years, he's still getting overpaid several times what he should.
