O rly? Do you have a link to that version? Looked around everywhere and couldn't find anything. I wonder why ztn never made Blood Run for Q2. My version is made from scratch, completely new geometry (like ztn would have done), and traced off of (a slightly resized version of) the Q3 version since I feel that its better than the original Q/QW version.

As for Coliseum, I'll move around items for a remix version, but for this I want it to very close to the original. I could make a quick Q2 PSX mod, but I can't use MingGW to compile code either atm (although that compile includes a client build), again thanks to my shitty laptop.

the one thats a direct convert from qw is ztndm3q2 and there is one that is made off the q3 layout, but i cant remember its name and they both suck pretty bad :(

I couldn't find any Q3 remake though. Yeah that is pretty bad. Hit your head on doorways, on the RL ledge above the tele, RA jump is far too easy, etc.. Q2 and Q3 both have much less restrictive movement than Q1/QW, resulting in longer, higher jumps etc., so a direct remake is understandably shit. There's a reason why ztn made the Q3 version roughly 80% bigger than the Q1 version.

One thing I want to know... is it possible to double jump out of tele exits in Q2? I haven't been able to in any map, which is a pity if it isn't possible.

stock q2 physics freeze you leaving teleporters... so no :) however, you can vote that out in opentdm

also, you can still move out of the tele, just no double jump :P perfect example of what im trying to say would be the teleport on aerowalk on the back end of the map, you CAN get over to the rocket pack on the ledge out of the tele, its just a bitch :)

That's a bummer. It helps quite a bit when going from RG tele to RA ledge. Then again, plasma climbing is also great for that map.

As for Furious Heights - I thought of doing that and Hektik  :biggungrin: I just don't feel up for the insta-ban and lawsuit that Id might give me afterwards  :oksign:

Have you seen what qw tourney players do with rocket jumps while playing? Pro qw players make q2 players look like turtles.


That's honestly the entire reason I made my rocket gib mod, to get that kind of crazy speed into q2 using rocket jumps.

Yeah but its insta weapon switch, fast weapon fire and so on that makes QW feel fast, but players still feel smaller and slower than in other Quakes.

@Barton:
LOL and that was with the original textures too. Still, QL is new, Id are Zenimax's prison bitches now and we don't know what those corporate pricks are capable of. I'd probably still do t7 but with new geometry and textures though. I knew a QL player who's recently got his profile banned and I think it's got to do with the fact that he released a map pack of all QL maps converted to Q3 lol.

well id software has always really loved their community, and id is really the coolest company around :) but now that they have a parent company, that parent company might crack down on copyright technicalities and sue some one for some serious cash :/
