Thanks. I`m not sure how to make the spawn pads invisible though. What did you do to make yours invisible, out of curiosity? Thanks in advance.

Just put the spawn points a little into the ground (I think 9 units is good).

Btw, if you're itching to do some remakes and want some references, I've got them all. Just name one and I'll give.

I know I`d like to do Hydraphobia next, so references for that would be appreciated, when I have the time to get to them. (I`m still in for the Mav comp though). Thanks in advance.

We should get a naming convention going here and have a map pack put together. I'm numbering the maps as its ordered in the game, and since theres only dm maps in Q2PSX, I just skip the dm part and just do q2psx*.

LOL yeah erm... the Mav contest. That contest I've done almost nothing for.  :lolsign:

Muffin Man, don't forget to use dummy filenames until you can get people to playtest for you. Then use that actual convention when you know it's ready for release.

Emerald Tiger did a very good job of that with his first map.

Yeah I will beta test the more complex maps but with a map as simple as the one I just did, there's really no need to test it.

I only mention it because I had to do some major item adjustment on the n64 maps. So don't rely on original item placement. Expect to change it based on feedback, like E.T. did with his first one.

The one that I didn't do a test for is the only one in which I accidentally placed a teleporter in the floor and 30 minutes of testing with bots SOMEHOW didn't have me that spawn.. go figure  :dohdohdoh:



P.S. I know that you're nowhere near a newbie when it comes to map making, so don't think I'm trying to be condescending.

Yeah I understand what you're saying, but when you've got a map that consists of nothing more than 2 small rooms and 2 corridors, any problem is bound to be easy to spot. That aside, I'm still going to do a reduxed version of this that'll play far better than this version (including item layout changes), so if issues pop up then they can still be fixed in future. But anyway, the next map will probably have a test version if you'd like to test it.

Nope. After I realized that there was a guy named Rota running around making maps (thought he was q3 exclusive honestly) I strated signing mine as "peewee" and no longer as "RotA"
