I have no info about Bush going to Atlanta....I was just trying to start some junk. It
was
reported on WWL's draft show tonight that Reggie had tweeted "it's been fun New Orleans" about 20 minutes after they traded up for Ingram. I can't see how they can continue to justify paying him big bucks when he's either hurt or running backwards/sideways. I have always loved the way Pierre Thomas plays. His injury last year, in hindsight, should have been surgically treated right away. He has always been better than Bush in every aspect, although Reggie had the ability to break a punt return for a TD and that's not a huge strength for PT. I keep hearing "experts" say how valuable Bush is as a decoy in Peyton's offense and maybe I'm underestimating what that does to opposing defenses. He's never been a problem in the locker room that I know of and seems to be happy in N.O. I don't mean to bash the guy for getting the big money when he could, but he flat out ain't worth it. With P.T., Chris Ivory, and Ingram, the Saint's could have a decent run game - which would be huge for the offense. Brees can kill you with play action. O, and a young RB named Lionel Hampton is a big dude who looked promising until he got hurt and put out early last season. Sigh...injuries can take what you have on paper and turn it into crap in no time.
As for Atlanta, I have followed Norwood since he played high school ball at Brandon. That skinny legged kid was something special even then. When he went to MS State he was ALL they had on offense. The other team knew he was going to get the ball and he still managed over 100 yrds. Quality person, as well, and I will always pull for him except when he plays the Saints. Hey, I have an idea........Bush for Norwood trade!

No thanks.
Maybe Norwood being on IR last year had a little to do with Michael Turner's performance. They had a newer guy Jason Snelling as the other runningback. Snelling did pretty well in at least one game, I forget who they played, but he put up tons of yards against them. Then after that game he went back to being just another face in the crowd, nothing really impressive. But normally Atlanta makes substitutions like crazy. About the only guys they'll leave in on offense for a whole drive will be the QB (of course) and maybe a couple of the guys on the offensive line. When guys start getting winded, they swap them in and out trying to keep everyone as fresh as possible while also creating some confusion and extra work defensive coordinators. Last year, they really didn't swap the HB position in and out like normal. They usually had Turner in and would maybe stick Snelling in there for a 3rd down once in a while when Turner was seeing a lot of carries, or they'd have Snelling in there 100% of the time when Turner was down with an injury.
I'd also kinda like to see Atlanta get a new fullback. Ovie Mughelli is getting pretty old and he's not as quick as Turner or Norwood. If its a draw up the middle, he works to maybe knock one guy out of the way, but if it's anything around the tackles, he doesn't have the speed to get there so that someone like Turner can get the ball and go full stride, he's gotta slow up to keep him in front to gather up the first defender. They really never use him as a receiving option either because he can't catch for shit, and even if he DOES, he ain't going any farther than where he catches the ball because someone will be on him before he can move.

Some interesting insights in this little story. I hadn't paid that close attention to the draft this year and was not aware that Atlanta had given up so many picks for Julio Jones. Like he says, DAMN STRAIGHT it better work. Apparently they feel pretty satisfied with the performance of the defense and are of the philosophy that the defense may not
always
stop the other guy from scoring but that it doesn't matter as long as we can always
outscore
the other team. I have to wonder what the hell they were thinking. Their receivers all play their positions just fine. Roddy White is always great. Brian Finneran is basically a vet at this point and finally seemed to be hitting his prime last season making a lot of really great plays. In my opinion, the 4 man defensive line and linebackers are where they probably needed to think about a little stratification.

Dear Jim Tressel,
You will be sorely missed at Ohio State. But you won't be missed anywhere else. Actually... you won't be missed at Ohio State either. Fuck you very much. Good luck in your next bowl game, Ohio State University... maybe in 2020?

DM server is fucked. 2 point blank rockets from spawn and lava damage and player survived? WTF?" Also someone has fucked with the spawn points, every single time no matter how big the map you spawn right in front of the person who killed you last
