Yeah, the Packers blowout of the Falcons was a surprise. The Packers are looking really good, I have to believe they will beat the winner of the Seattle/Chicago game.

Conference playoff predictions:

I really have NO clue. Might as well flip a coin. I didn't think the New York Jets would stand a chance against the New England Patriots last weekend but they still managed to beat them. I didn't expect Green Bay to run all over Atlanta last weekend and outscore the living dog shit out of them like they did either. In the back of my mind, I kinda figured Green Bay would probably find a way to keep Atlanta outta the running for a Superbowl like always (nevertheless, I still hoped for the best), but I didn't expect them to do it by FOUR FUCKING TOUCHDOWNS.

The Green Bay versus Chicago game I'd feel a little more comfortable wagering on the Packers though, and here's why. Atlanta beat them in a close game already earlier in the year. I was watching some of the replay games on NFL network yesterday, and they reaired the first meeting of Green Bay and Chicago this year. Chicago managed to win that one in a pretty close game too. Seriously, Chicago ain't got shit on Atlanta this year and I think their regular season records prove this. It seems like someone's lit a bonfire under Green Bay's ass on offense. I don't think Chicago's defense will be able to stop them or even slow them down enough to give their own offense a chance to keep it a close game. Green Bay has been slugging out quite effectively since the last few weeks of the regular season against some really good teams. They made it into the wild card round miraculously and disposed of both Philadelphia and Atlanta, not an easy feat. I gotta call it based on consistency and say that Green Bay will probably come out on top this weekend too. If you'll remember back in preseason, everyone said Green Bay would be the team to beat this year. They had a bit of a slump mid-season, but I think they've got their shit together and are now proving that those predictions weren't just pissing in the wind.

As for the Jets and Steelers game, it seems more likely that the Steelers would win. Yeah, the Jets played a good disciplined game last week against New England, but the consistency in effectiveness hasn't been there throughout the past month or two. If the Jets can play hard and effective rather than Mark Sanchez tossing passing too high for his receivers to have a shot at bringing in, then I'd like to see them have a spot in the Superbowl. Haven't seen them in the running for it in a long time, and I think it's about time we had some other teams have a shot at it.

Anyway, long story short, predictions and wagers. Most places are showing odds largely in favor of Green Bay, and even MORE in favor of Pittsburgh, but I'm gonna have to risk it on that one. New York can lose and I'll still be okay. I just hope the Packers don't allow Chicago to win. I lost 2 games last weekend which wasn't too bad of hit considering the only one I lost in the NCAA bowl season was the BCS Title.

AFC Conference title: ($200)
#2 Pittsburgh Steelers vs. #6 New York Jets = New York wins

My first instinct is to go with the Jets and Packers because they both seem to be on one of those special rolls that most teams get on going to the superbowl. But if they both win, that will be two 6th seeds in the superbowl. Has that ever happened before? Hmmm. I think you're safe with the Packers pick. I would love to see somebody other than the Steelers from the AFC, but I don't have much faith in the Jets. I sure wouldn't bet on it!

Wow, It only took their franchise quarterback threatening to leave to get shit done. Personally I hope Carson Palmer sticks with Cincinnati and Chad JOHNSON gets the fuck outta Ohio for good. Although I'd settle for Cincinnati keeping him as long as he shuts the fuck up and plays his position like THEY PAY HIM TO FUCKING DO.
