8 more days until NFL preseason begins. Get your overpriced player jerseys, foam fingers, and beer hats ready.

I watched a replay of the latest Super Bowl last weekend and I must say it gets sweeter with time...............
This is a new year, but if there is a season of games, the New Orleans Saints will be a formidable opponent for all. BUWWAHHAAHH.

I heard yesterday that Falcons WR Michael Jenkins fucked up his shoulder while diving for a pass in training.
Hopefully they can at least wait until mid-season to have everyone sidelined with injuries. Give me SOME glimmer of hope, at least for a
little while
that Atlanta will have a playoff year. Jenkins is a bit old now, but with the history Atlanta has in the NFL, you can't blame me for being a bit superstitious about it.
As for the Saints. I don't think they'll repeat last years performance. I kinda hope not... for the sake of Atlanta obviously.
But I also just don't like to see the same teams running all over everyone in the playoffs for 4 years in a row. It's good for people who gamble on football games, but it sucks a bit of the excitement out of it for the spectators.

Finally. A reason to watch TV again. Pre-season starts tonight. Carolina Panthers at Baltimore Ravens, 8pm ET on ESPN.

Sweet, I am going to watch some of that game. I am curious as to how the Lions are going to be this year since its been said that they have a great lineup this year. We shall see about that.

Indeed. I feel so bad for the Lions getting beat again and again. I know they were fortunate enough to draft Heisman candidate Ndamukong Suh, but I haven't really paid attention to any off-season changes any teams have made other than a few of the draft picks. If the Lions can't really make vast improvements on the offensive side, maybe they can now at least put the brakes on an opponent by dominating them defensively. Suh's been a monster sideline to sideline player in college. I watched a few of his games last year thinking to myself, "Holy shit, this guys already playing at NFL level." They have a great QB in Matt Stafford. Being a UGA fan, I gotta root for him.
Hopefully this will be a turnaround year for Detroit. I can't say I have the same optimism for Buffalo or Oakland, especially Oakland.

I like when he paused halfway through responding "cowgirls", then said "we don't like the cowgirls". Just for Dukie....

Just got home from watching the Denver vs. Cincinnati game at the bar. I wasn't too impressed with Tim "The TurdBurglar" Tebow's performance tonight. He has a good arm, and seems to have tightened up his throwing motion a little, but he has NO FUCKING IDEA whats going on around the pocket. He looks like any other college QB you could pick at random and stick in the NFL. He's still used to the dawdle-time he had to screw off inside the pocket in college, whereas in the NFL, the opposing defensive line flies at the QB every last play like they caught him fucking their wives. Sure, they technically do the same thing in college, but in the NFL, they are 10 times more efficient at it.
I was actually more impressed by Carson Palmer's little bro. He kept cool and had a good sense about pocket presence.
P.S.= Tony "The Homo" Romo.

I was hanging out with some guys from Windwalkers MC at their clubhouse, drinking some cold beers and watching the game last night when I witnessed one of the greatest moments in NFL history. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing the first time I can ever recall seeing actual blood being spilled on the football field. I've seen concussions and dislocations and bones broken on several occasions, but this is the first time I can recall seeing blood literally gushing from someones head before. Eli Manning had his boneheaded running back stumble into him after a snap, jarring his helmet sideways and obscuring his vision. Less than a second later, a Jets linebacker drills him in the back, sending his helmet flying into the air and his head screaming towards another players facemask. WHAM! Quality television. This is why I love the NFL. Luckily he was alright, just a few stitches.
Football is a game played by real men. Fuck soccer and the girlie little pussies that play it.

I agree. I can't make heads or tails of anything or anyone at this point. It seems like some players are pussy-footing all their plays, while others (who probably shouldn't if they want to make it to the regular season in one piece) are seemingly going balls to the wall. Hell, even the Lions pulled off a win for the first time in a long time yesterday. I won't be able to comfortably set any money on any games until maybe the 3rd or 4th week.
