I find it funny that they credited a writing staff. The lack of any real story is pretty much the biggest thing it had going for it.

Everything else was a terribly imagined rip off of every good alien invasion movie ever. (Most obvious are Independence Day and War Of The Worlds). Best of all, the whole "jeepers creepers" brain steeling crap was retarded with a capital DERP!

The worst part is what little of the movie that relies on writing. For example, the way the aliens attack. The whole light thing was lame. The inconsistencies were also throw up worthy. Best example, one of the baddies is maimed by being run over in an SUV. The same kind of baddie, later, bursts through a 10inch thick cement wall without a scratch. Any sci-fi/action movie has the decency to establish that the weaknesses of the small guys can be relied on consistently.

And another thing... The whole "Do everything possible to make the bad guys untouchable" crap was awful. They effectively created the Grudge of aliens. No rules matter, because all weaknesses and rules were subject to change every time that the predictable death of a character came up. Best example are a set of tentacles that after attaching to a car immediately fell off due to not being able to hold... yet the same exact tentacles from the same exact creature catch onto a helicopter. And no, these are not small things. Imagine if a jedi's lightsaber changed colors every scene or if one of the aliens movies decided that the blood made a nice herbal tea. Inconsistencies are bad writing, it's just that simple...

Freaking waste of money. I'm never shelling out for a blue ray copy of anything again....

Sucker Punch  :  6/10

Not terrible as the critics are making it out to be. Its ambitious and often disjointed,but for a few mindless thrills and fetishistic Hot Babes with Gunz it delivers in spades.The Dream within a Dream aspect "works",the new girl constructing her own reality just to accept the horrors around her is understandable,but the action sequences,although pretty,have a cumbersome fit into the overall scheme of the narrative.And lastly,I will say the resolution was a genuine surprise to me. I'd go see it just for escaping one's own horrors for a few hours.
