The hardest part of that challenge would be finding someone with a 7 string bass to borrow from them. I don't see the point of a 7 string bass. If you're gonna need to play notes that high, might as well just let the guitar player in the band handle it.I've played around on a 7 string guitar a few times. I can understand the usefulness of an extra lower string on a 7 string guitar, but it's not something I'd wanna play on as my main guitar. The neck width takes some getting used to, and it's not as comfortable and effortless to play on as a 6 string. But I've also tried to play some of these newer 8 and 9 string guitars I've occasionally seen sitting around at Guitar Center... no way. Not happening. The fretboard is WAY too wide to play comfortably. Best of luck to you yo-yo's who wanna drop the money on one of those things. Count me out.
