ztndm3q2 crashes both the servers and so wont be part of the Novice-bracket maplist - we are back to 10maps on the Maplist.

Where is the scheduleing thread for this touney?

I was signed up for Sport Bracket, but then noticed that a ton of players that should be in the pro bracket decided to join the sport bracket. I'm all about having a fair fight and dont want to waste my time getting slaughtered 80-0 by players that should be in the pro bracket but felt the only way to actually have a chance at winning was to join the lower ranked Sport Bracket. So...Unfortunatly I am forced to slide into the Novice bracket, which buy looking at the players there, will still be a challange for me since I really suck at WeapStay off type of play and it seems thats where the players within my skill level are signing up.

Anyway, I'm a bit rusty since I've been really busy parting my ass off for the last couple of weeks instead of keeping my skills at Q2 sharp....This should still be some good fun.

Brackets are filled up. Waiting-List players will fill in the BYE Slots, and will replace players dropping out.

***Tourney Kick-Off Details***

Ok - just wanted to clarify some stuff as the tourney starts.

Comm
When you post in your GameThread, instead of only saying your availability, immediately propose a MatchTime (date-time) even if you don't know your opponent's availability. This speeds up the process of the Scheduling. If the opponent can't, he will propose another. So basically - try to propose a time on every post you do in ur GameThread.

Week:Round
For any brackets, the first two rounds will be 1 week each. Some people asked for speeded-up Tourney, and it will be applied, however the First two weeks will be a mess in terms of games to be reffed and admined. And its not possible to do this in a shorter span of time. (2nd week has same amount of match due to double-elim). It only starts to slack down in third week. And thats where we'll speed things up (for sport & pro). Novice will keep the 1week-1round ratio for the whole tourney.

q2a Enforcing alternative
Some players *complained* about q2a being enforced. q2a will (for the pro-bracket) be enforced on a 'trust' method. If both players agree to use different clients than q2a (since they know each other and trust themselves) they will be allowed to (this will require both players saying so in the GameThread, while in-game or whenever). IF one player wants q2a enforced, both players will have to use a valid q2a client for the game - so get your clients ready otherwise you will be the guilty player.

Euro players matched together
Morpheus contacted me earlier today - since him and Damiah are euro, there is no point in playing on the tastyspleen servers for their game, they'd rather play in Europe for their game. And it will be so, one ref will go on a selected server in europe and ref the game from there (can vote maps and settings over there). For any NA-vs-NA or EURO-vs-NA games, it will be on either one of the two tastyspleen tourney servers.

Prize Additions
There might be prizes added to different brackets (in a proportional manner) during the tourney, as we got donators still not confirmed.

I was wondering about servers. Do we have to play on tastyspleen.net servers or can we play on others? I'm sort of new to the whole tastyspleen thing so do we also have to demo? (so i can make sure i do) and in novice bracket we are allowed to use r1q2 right? because it runs 100x smoother then q2a.5 does. but it would be alright if i use it, i mean its not that bad, just r1q2 is smoother/faster.

Yes you can use r1q2 in novice Bracket, q2a isnt enforced.

You MUST play on tastyspleen.net server (27930 & 27931). Otherwise your game will not be valid, you also need a ref.

something seems weird. in a double elimination tourney you should have a 2nd shot at taking 1st place. How come I don't see that when I look at the brackets. the person who comes in 2nd ahs to beat the first guy twice to take 1st place. sort of like a double header if 2nd place wins.

Yep-

Its a mistake in the brackets (unless it pops out another column if winner-bracker winner loses). But in case the Winner of the Winner-Bracket loses against the Winner of the Loser-Bracket, a second game will be played.

Thanx a lot. I would also like to thank you for all your hard work, and if I get the job I am expected to get, by the end of the tourney, I am considering donating 50$ for the Novice bracket prize pool, so we new people, can get a prize.
