This isn't just "justifying it in my head." Or perhaps it is, but when I entered the scene way back when in 98, it was accepted to use all these things in competition and I never questioned it. If it's acceptable to the people you compete against then there should be no problem.

Maps for the Pro-Bracket have been voted, here's the Top 5:

ztn2dm3 : Rage
q2dm1: Edge
q2rdm2 : Chastity Belt
ztn2dm2 : Killing Machine
q2dm3 : Frag Pipe

These will be pre-determined for every match of every round. The final template will be posted once we will know how many players there will be in the bracket (16- or 17+).

Hmm.. i couldent be arsed to look for a thread for this. its about two things.. 1 is q2a - i tried to install it but had no idea how to.. where does it go? what i gotta do? what does it do?, 2 - what if matches are too late to be attended? as i start my final year of studying tommorow

1) put the .exe(q2advance.exe) in quake2 folder (just like regular q2.exe), and put the .pak in baseq2. Afterwards you simply run the game from the new exe (q2advance.exe).
2) You schedule your match with your opponent, so you can put it earlier for you if you're from england. Try to find a time that works.

It's a lot of fun whether you win or lose. I lost in the first round in the first and second tournaments, but that doesn't stop me from trying. I'm sure you won't waste anyone's time...You would actually be helping out since we need more players anyway.

But hey, it's up to you. More people, the better.

I guess, it would be fun. trouble is with this, this computer is in my room, its my computer and my net too, but sometimes i gotta let brothers and sisters on with absoloutely no notice :\ so its just difficult.. if i can work something out ill join =)

cartman killed me in the first tournamet. grunt and wafflez killed me in round 2 of the 2nd (i was teamed with daelmun and the guys who nevered showed up for the first round, got a bye). i will say that the 2nd tournament was better for me, than 1st tourney.
