When I first started playing quake I used the nick "a Tigrare" which is a race in a book i'm writing.  Then I started playing Half-Life as "the Myth".  And now... "the Crazed"    I thought it sounded cool....

As for my other aliases... I prefer they remain anonymous

I played Freeze Tag for years on UK servers as Viking_EO (I'm from Norway ;-) ).
There were always alot of chat during games and I needed a nick to "hide" behind while playing more focused and not talking to much.
At the same time I bought a new mouse ...
Actually only one of the admins ever suspected that the two nicks were the same player (because he could see parts of my IP) as I actually played very different and better when using opTiCal.

Well...EyEsTrAiN comes from the fact that my FOV is set pretty high (at 120) and I tend to "strain" myself making long railshots. I've tried different FOV's, but 120 is the only one that feels right to me, that and when strafejumping actually looks like you are getting speed. I also have many alias's, one of which being ailing_vomit (anagram of 'I am loving it', from Maddox's site for those of you who check out his articles). The others I prefer to keep to myself .

I got this name from an independant game developing company that created sum corny game for PCAccelerator's independant game compitition.

It also represents the way I try to play.

My real name actually isn't Mya, it's Alice

Anyway, when I first started playing quake 2 on enter.net, I went by Strider since I had a crush on Aragorn from Lord of the Rings. Later, I found out that another player referred to himself as Strider, so I changed my name to Gorgon. I was in a neopets guild and it was divided into four houses like in Harry Potter. I was named 'Head Gorgon'. We were like the Slytherins in Harry Potter. Then, I switched my name to Mya. For a brief period of time I changed my name to Martyr (I stole the name from my cousin). Then, I switched back to Mya again.

I've had other aliases before... but I don't really remember them.

How did I come up with Mya? Well, when I was trying to come up with a screen name (to play on neopets)...I browsed through and saw this really cute 'space faerie' blinky and it said, "magical" in purple on it. That was when I decided I wanted magical in my name. I figured two M's Mya...Magical would go together, and then voila... that's how I got my screen name. I used to want people to call me, "MyaMagical" but finally it got to the point that everyone just called me Mya, so I dropped magical. Now I go by Mya. My real life friends used to call me Mya, but now only one of them still does... I prefer Alice now, but I'll respond to both names.

And it's pronounced My-ah, not Me-ah

About three or four years ago I finally was able to get broadband in my area.  This prompted me to install Q2 once again and upon doing so I needed to come up with a new name.  I had just received a new shipment of Vacuum Tubes for my amp and they are manufactured by a company in Russia called Svetlana.  Since that is a Feminine name I chopped off the Lana and left it just plain Svet.  Most people think it stems from sweat as in perspiration but that is not the case.
