Where did your nick come from? (if you don't mind telling us...)

Mine is some nonsense word I thought up while stoned. Turns out it's the name of a shitty Black Metal band. If you do a google search you'll find them.

My original Quake 2 name was "Bloodlust", and I think I heard that word the first time from the game Heretic 2, or at least that's where the word stands out the most for me.  So I felt like that was a mean/vicious sounding name, so that's who I was.  Then I forget when, I guess sometime in my first year of playing, I started using various nicks, like Chump, Newbi-rific!!!, Clambake, Gordo, Athena, and a bunch of other ones, and I don't even remember now why I stuck with Punk.  It has no real story behind it.  I'm not a big fan of punk music or anything like that (which some people have assumed before), it's just like Punk, like a street punk, or "You punk!" etc. I guess.  Mainly it's Punk because I'm not very creative =)

I started with "Chavez", took it from some movie which had a sniper called that name, after a while I changed to "Rayden" due to my appreciation of the MK character and joined a clan. I quit q2 and from then on, I used Laurelin, which is the name of a Golden Tree in JRR Tolkien's Mythology. It's much more passive and prolly suits better my personnality - not that Im a lazy ass...

I really wanted to use Eribo as that is the 3 first letter of my first name and the 2 first of my surename, and was the name I used in any old DOS game I played prior to quake2 on my old comp. Often with the addition of Butcher for the cheesy effect if the game happened to have support for long names (Eribo the Butcher), as I was young and wild. But once I started playing quake2 I came on zone, and needed to find a zone name but Eribo and even Eriboh were already taken. Then I just read my sure name backwards and settled with that, that being namhob. When I joined my first zone clan the name IMD_Namhob was taken (stupid zone always seemed to say names where taken allthough they weren't, no idea why), so I was known as IMD_Nam (actually a great name). But I actually decided to quit quake2 when I went home on xmas holiday that year. Coming back to my comp I decided nah, I want to play quake2 again. And since I no longer was in that clan, and no longer wanted to use the name Namhob (sounded awfull and looked even more so) I had to think some more.

Daelmun was a name I used when I made characters in old rpg games actually. It originated from the name King Solomon (name of some ancient guy), but I made a boxer in an old boxing game (4D Boxing or something similar) named King Kalemon which I thought sounded nice based on the King Solomon name. Just by changing the K to a D and switching some of the letters and replacing the o with u, I got the name Daelmun. Think it was Darksun II: wake of the ravager I first made it, maybe back in '95 or around then. Since then I had a few names I kept using so I didn't need to think of names: Daelmun, Camwel, Weynin if the characters were male, and Felysses and Alderanda if they were female. Now Daelmun happened to be the character I used in the series of Baldur's Gate games which were the games I played just pritor to quake2 (before I played quake2 I only played old DOS games, mostly sport simulators (Championship Manager 2 I played for 17 seasons before the game crashed when the power went out during saving) and adventure/rpg games. And at the same time I started playing quake2 I was just starting to play Neverwinter Nights, of course with Daelmun as the character's name. I thought the name looked sorta cool, and hadn't seen anyone with a remotely similar name. I decided to use it for quake2 as well. However I lower cased the D in my alias, to make it look like daelmun. On zone daelmun was taken, so I settled with the zone way of getting the name you wanted (adding _'s to either side of the name): _daelmun_

As explained, there is no meaning to the word daelmun, it doesn't mean anything. And not even sure how to pronounce it, I started out saying "dalemun" but now I say "da ell munn" or something like that, as people started calling me dael and I thought it was better to say "da ehl" than "dale". Of course people always mispell my name, dealman, daleman (actually an old swedish player), daelman, dealmun and  any way you possibly can get dael = dale/deal/del/dal and mun = man/mon.

And of course daelmun can be used to make good names as numlead and duelman

maximum ping... pretty obvious, but I (we)...max ping jr., started playing with a ping around 1000 rather than the glorious 200 we have today. Actually we just got into our new house and will bring it down a bit more. We've used several other names, some by max jr. I can't remember nor pronounce. Some of them are...Flem, Pink Menace, Shoeshine Boy, mp

I took the name Dukester when I started hanging out on Polycount.  I got that name from  my cat who got it from John Wayne.
I've always been Dukester, Duke-ster, Dukie or some variatation since 97.

i wanted something different when i started playing MMORPG games and this is what i came up with heh
i kept it since it was alot better and more original then my other name :p
