we can directly observe planets being formed

Well obviously what we are looking at is God in action.  :lolsign:

the world wasn't formed entirely by "floating" particles of "dust" in space.
otherwise it wouldn't have coalesced into a lump. dust doesn't stick together all by itself...

through many long years of astronomy we, as humans, have pretty much seen planets in every stage of formation.
this is fairly undisputed by everyone but the most idiotic and misinformed zealots.

what we've gathered so far thru actual observation of recordable events and celestial bodies:

Our planet was formed of metallic particles that added greatly to the particle cloud's overall gravity...
It's crystalline bits, the silicate particles, were drawn together in space by gravity and their very directional electromagnetic charges caused by the symetrical alignment of their atoms...
All of these bits coming together, would have bounced right off each other, if it wasn't for the shock-absorbing properties of another group of particles known to be present in the early formation of an earth-like planet: ice.
(not crytalline ice like we are used to, but amorphous lumps of ice particles that froze so fast in the vacuum of space that they skipped the stage of their phase change that would have aligned them into patterns because of their charges.)

The rotational motion imparted to the particle cloud by it's formation (the death of a primordial star or group thereof) gave the dense spot that became the earth a great amount of velocity and energy.

it spun around in space knocking into other shit for a long time, and as it hit more stuff it collected it like a snowball.
this process bled off a great deal of energy in the form of heat, and as the massive particle cloud cooled, the metalic (heavier) atoms worked their way mostly to the middle of the gravity well, forming the earth's core.
(which gives us gravity, and creates the earth's strong magnetosphere which allowed life to form here by protecting our planet's surface from direct bombardment by incoming charged solar particles in space)

should I keep going or do you get the picture?

But how do you know that.
Mabey he's still doing stuff. How do you know for sure that all the things in place to make it happen wasn't his doing. Looks like the formation of planets takes a great deal of organized processes. Not just "random" happenings.

You are all living inside my my nose. Now behave, or I'll sneeze and create another what you would call big bang. The planets are just other boogies.

yes that's correct quadz it could have been created at any time but also if god created and completed the universe in 7 days so the good book says don't ya think he would have thought of everything before hand so everythng else can be created?seems like the universe came with batteries included that's just a thought i'd like to bring out.    and as for the unverse being created 20 minutes ago i have t osay no because i was raping some dudes in quake 4 at that time  :smiley_abin:  :lolsign:

Oh?  How do you know that?  The Universe could have been created 2 milliseconds ago, completely intact, including your recent memories of having gay sex with some dudes in quake 4.

Why not?  No-one would know.

Heh, well, you're straining the limits of my infinitesimal knowledge of cosmology and astrophysics, but...
I suspect the current situation is, that based on our knowledge of fundamental particles, we can predict how planets *should* form, and what we are seeing through telescopes is confirming these predictions.  I don't have time to do the research now to confirm that, but I am willing to bet that is the current state of affairs.
quadz, no offense whatsover, but.. you're not as smart as you think you are.

Don't let'm get to ya Quadz. If he'd read the thread, he'd a seen the humor in our exchange :)

well to answer both of your questions:

the "fire" is actually just heat which is caused by immense pressure that was caused by gravity, which in turn was caused by the huge mass of the earth affecting the surrounding space.

if you dug a hole in arkansas and somehow found a way to safely go straight through the core, which is pressurized molten metal, you'd end up coming out the other side somewhere in the vicinity of the Indian subcontinent... possibly under the Indian Ocean. (depends on the angle you dig... if it's a shallow enough angle, you could come out in california after digging in a straight line under the earth's curved surface)

any more questions Mr. Duke?
