I like pwning ppl with the worst guns. I often switch to a blaster when some1 chases me with a Railgun. Fun to blast them to death and then take thier weapon. If some1 has a chainsaw i use a machinegun, handgrenade versus a rocket launcher, chaingun vs a grenade launcher and a railgun versus a shotgun./supershotgun.

That and my favorite map is the LAB map. I enjoy walking into the tunnles with a live grenade in myhand so that when the tunnle campers drill me with a supershotgun/railgun they die with me. If i didnt kill myself in the process i would get first place almost everyround in that map based on the number of campers i kill :P

So no, frags are not skills. Any1 can kill some1 who is typing or afk or just off the spawn pad  :LAME: ...it takes skill to take out some1 with more armor/ammo/gear/skill than you, or at the very least is moving around and not standing there :)  :rocketright:

My 2 cents $$

I can't believe I never saw this thread!

I could go on and on - I have played the game for over 5 years - I have faced the truth - I am not going to get much better than I am right now - better than some worse than most - I win maps cause I know how to camp well, and I definitely know how to spam - every once in a while the railgun works for me - then the idea of frags equalling skill hold true for me, but most often not.

gg!

Does it take Frags to be good at Q2? Frags=skillz???? lets Debate...What do you think?

CrAzY

there's a lot more to the game than the score..

I find it more fun in tourney mode to have under 10 deaths a map then to have an absurd amount of kills

Yes, this is where many around here have a slightly skewed perception of what skill is in this game. For example (no offense it's the first example that comes to mind) someone like Betty, who just runs around aimlessly hoping to get rail dies 3x more than everyone in the process (majority FFA mind set). Even if one has a decent contribution to frags, dying so much hurts the team way more than someone like betty contributes positively.

Kewl thread actually. I read most of the replies and some great points were made , my favorite was the wining player not even saying "gg" at  the end or "nice shot!". This happens i find from the elite tdm player that thinks he/she is to good for ffa, um Dolph1n you listening", zzzzzz heh. As for the topic are frags important? In my case i love to win a map but dont need to win to have a good time. And of course you need FRAGZ to win. So fragz are important and really is the whole idea of the game. Here at tasty it doesnt show the efficiency on the scoreboard in mutant ffa anyways. And eff is what i dig the most. I much rather come in 3rd with a 75% eff then come in first with a 50% eff. The game is not only to frag but not to get fraged. Quite a few players go ballz out through the map spamming nades or rox like madmen/woman with no concern as to die'in. They rack up the frags but also racking up the deaths. Its a style for sure , just not mine.
Btw , Im fairly new to this server and forum and have had a great time so far! I find most peeps here are fun to play and are great compitition. Cheers to clan BTF For being the most helpful players.

"meh in FFA efficiency doesn't mean jack. Only thing that matters is winning the map.... in TDM sure it matters..."

LoL , well thats your opinion. Some servers use to have best efficiency on the top of the score board at the end , not the one with most fragz. I'm sure they did this because it takes a better player not to die more then they frag i would guess. The best games I've had here at tasty has been when 4 or 5 good players are on the server and playing the efficiency game. They Keep there health and armour up. Sometime they retreat when needed to gather more of such things. Someone once said "he who fights and runs away will live to fight another day." These players, even though the eff isnt shown I would bet pride themselves somewhat for there skill as this type of player.
So anyways dude, that is your opinion, I would like to here from other's on the efficiency thing.

Since I get more out of skillfully defeating an opponent than I do out of camping it up or spawnraping, I tend to watch my efficiency stats, on servers that show them, instead of my frags.. (you should know how many frags you've got anyway)

I don't go way out of my way to make my efficiency % as high as possible, (I could kill 1 dude and hide the rest of the game if I wanted) but I do try not to make as many excessively predictable movements. (to minimize how easy it is to hit me)
I also try not to go rushing out into the middle of a firefight until I can locate all the participants and gauge their offensive strength.

Mainly, I try not to die too much so I can maximize my time available for killing things..

I don't think fags are any more important then you or I. Just because they are getting all the attention these days with gay  marriages and gay rights they shouldn't get swollen heads. OOOO you said "frags".  Never mind.
