I played many years as Sgt. Dick, before I left Q2 for over a year.

When I came back I decided to use IOU.

I still wanted to be recognized by some of the old school players who are still around so I
still use the Sgt. name when postings and occasionally in a game.

Apple were playing about a week ago under the name fairlady or something close to that

Yeah, frags and fun.

Regarding fun ... I just can't see the fun in camping. Crouching and waiting for the next sod to pass by? Is THAT fun and exciting? I guess those players find frags to be VERY important.

I guess in the long run frags matter but I would NOT crouch infront of a teleporter to get the count up. I'd rather finish in the middle/last. Winning a map after fighting some good players is of course nice. Gives the ego a little boost :)

But hey! Every man his game (hate those campers tho ... Grrr)

There are those who make the argument that the point of the game is to get frags; after all a map is over when one player gets the most.

But as in any game, sportsmanship counts. If you have to win by playing dirty (pad camping, botting), then you're obviously not very skilled, and you're a pathetic bastard if "winning" some silly game means that much to you.

I've never bothered trying to hone my skills, which is why I'm not a very good player. I derive most of my fun from getting the occasional good rail shot and taking down campers. In fact, sometimes taking out campers is all I try to do.

Hey, I think this is my first post in the new forums!

Sorry for my late response...[fas] says it all...for those not familiar with this clan it =FragsAintSkills. The way I enjoy my game most of the time anymore is to look for campers and do interesting jumps...and bank nades off walls.Or jump into a room of people w/rails with nothing but a  nade or blaster!
I admit when I first started playing , it was about the winning...then as I realized I was good...but not that good..I started having fun just jumping to weird places, helping newbies out, and generaly just running around looking for the next new surprise in this kewl ass game. :)

It always feels great to win, but only if it is cuz you played well.  i tend to spend my time trying to hunt the better players on the server, and that usually hurts my score.  And i live to camper hunt too.  i'll ignore ten people on the way to the location of a known camper just to save my ammo for them.

If i wanted to score better, i am sure i could spend my time running from the good players and hunting the weak ones.  But that wouldnt be any fun at all.  i feel better about getting a frag on someone better then me then winning  in the end.
