TTSOM is another one of those old guy clans.

I'm way too young to be on any Q2 senior tour :)

Now a days all I care about is de-camping these campers....so where would I be if there werent any?

Good point, Mat--I've actually found myself disappointed on some maps when there ISN'T a camper somewhere. I've gotten to where I enjoy the lamers who camp the spawn pad in the tunnel on "Lab."

I must say, everyone has made valid points about the different playing styles and ways of playing the game. On the one hand, you have the people who will camp if for nothing else to piss others off, you have the people who like the campers just for the fact its fun to kill them (I fall into that catagory  ;) ) and people who play for the challege of the game, ect. Ultimately, there will always be campers and spawnkillers and people that generally piss people off, but hey, what can you really do? Every weapon does has its advantages and disadvantages, the only thing I don't like is when people have to spam 'Chaingun Lamer' over and over again  ::) I mean come on, if there wasn't suppose to be a chaingun in the game there wouldn't be  ;) . Same goes for the BFG, I personally don't use it unless that is the only weapon I have, but I know other people will so I try to be prepared for it. Everyone has their different reasons for playing the game, I hope that when it comes down to it, everyone plays for fun, but in some people's cases that is not so (insert Nasalflo here). I mean, how many of us years down the road are going to tell our kids of the glorious quake matches we had and the campers we killed?  ;D By that time, our kids will be hooked into their own VR device playing Quake 7 maybe  ;) . But, everyone has their strategy they follow much to the disdain or happiness of others. I am always happy with the level of sportsmanship and good times on the tastyspleen servers. Sure, you get a few bad apples (not a reference to applejacks  ;) ) but you play anyway. For that is the one thing, no matter how different we all may be, that we all share in common; We love Quake.

Yeah, 9 times out of 10 I'm oblivious to the chatting going on if I'm into the game and trying to focus/concentrate.  I have no chat binds either, no thanks, nice shot, etc.  So I have to type it out if someone says ns, etc.  I enjoy chatting occasionally, but mainly I play to play =)

Techincally, Pwned came from the game World of Warcraft as a misspelling in the game. When you beat someone it was supposed to say 'Owned', however the programmers had a minor error putting the P instead of the O in front, and lo and behold, began the Pwned frenzy that is still in use today.  ;D

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pwned

However, there is some debate on where exactly it came from, whether Warcraft or Quake...  ;)

man i can't believe i just sat here and read thru this entire post...i once asked Art if he was conducting or interested in starting quake therapy. It would seem that Slikk should write a book on the philosophy of quake play!

My opinion? We should go to a handicap system like golf... as i've said b4, which means I win... well I used to. Seems since this whole goto thing started theres been alot of other countries players on. I change my play, and mostly feel like art, that its combat interpretation. box a fighter/fight a boxer. I aint gonna go rail to rail with .... with most actually, i need to rely on weapons that explode. Love this game tho, cant wait to lower my ping... moving in JUne!
