In all the time you've told people to "relax", you could have downloaded that shit and ran it already probably 4 times.Keep on trollin', Jack.
You still want the servers rebooted?
Here's what happened in a nut shell.
Did you reboot yet?
So I guess no reboot yet?
Why the hesitation to reboot? What's the big deal. Takes 10 minutes and you can do it remotely -- right? Why not try it. I'm sure it will clear out a lot of garbage. When's the last time it was rebooted?Maybe its me or maybe its the server -- but it can't hurt to reboot -- right?
But shouldn't the servers be rebooted every now and again anyway. What's the big deal about trying a reboot? 10 minutes and done remotely.
If the server has 8 players or less, usually no problem. More than 8 players, than it lags etc. So it may very well be tastyspleen server related. Again -- what's the big deal about trying a reboot? People act like its asking for a UN resolution. I say try it -- it can't hurt. And I certainly can't change Verizon fios or level 3 routing. I can ask for a server to be rebooted. Just reboot it already. jeez.
Again I ask what is the big deal with trying a reboot. What does it hurt?
It Is well known that reboots clear out memory clear hung processes and refresh many parameters. It can't hurt right? It is the server maybe. It is not definitely me. No one knows for sure. So I say try a reboot. What's the big deal?
Not clear either way. Is there a harm to trying a reboot?
Regardless all servers perform better after reboots.
No one has stated that a reboot will cause any harm. So what's the concern?
Please. The people who handle this q2 stuff are usually up at all hours. Late night early morning is normal for these guys. They ain't 9 to 5 guys. And you live close that's why you aren't affected. I'm sure all servers whether windows or Linux can benefit from periodic reboots.
Others see lag. They just don't post here. And no one is asking to force a reboot. It can be done properly.
Well I'm sorry that asking for a server reboo t on the trouble shooting forum is such an imposition. I didn't know that a simple reboot would be equivalent to the debate over the federal budget. My apologies for having the audacity to request that someone push a button or two in an attempt to clear up what potentially could be server side issues. How silly of me. Of course, not one person in their sarcastic responses has pointed out what HARM there could be to try a reboot to see what that does. If it does nothing -- so what. At least you tried.
I asked a simple question about the harm of rebooting to the server. No one has answered that simple question ( other than stating it might be hard for the admin to do it). You can say all u want that the server isn't the problem. How does that answer my secondary question about it can't hurt to try it.
Server downtime is negligible and admin said it would be done at light usage time.
What I don't understand is why you think it is such a big deal to reboot anyway just in the maybe minor off chance it could be of some minuscule good effect. You act like rebooting is like passing a kidney stone.

I will not negotiate with a gun held to my head.
Debate is apparently prohibited. How dare anyone debate a point. Oh my god. Call the police.
