I think you need a reboot.
yea, well i downloaded some ra2 maps files in an exe file on the tasty download section. So long story short, it doesn't have any of the core maps. it has a bunch of map names i never seen before. where can i find a reliquary of the maps i need to play on the east ra2. (palace of brak) etc. hmm maybe i will try well of souls if they have it. if they do i will link them here in an edit so the downloads section can be copied and updated. (if console so desires, so he's not out of the loop)
Mercy is for the weak. Here, in the streets, in competition: A man confronts you, he is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy.

Well my ping graph looks like a comb -- very spiky.

(Actually I don't know what colors q2pro uses... so a screenshot would help.)What is your cl_maxfps set to in Q2?BTW, the trace from the server -> you looks reasonably clean & stable. This is a ping/trace at 60Hz for about 34000 packets: Packets Pings Host Loss% Snt Last Avg Best Wrst StDev 1. 67.228.69.113-static.reverse.softlayer.com 0.0% 34003 0.2 0.2 0.2 187.5 4.1 2. ae13.dar02.sr01.dal01.networklayer.com 0.0% 34003 0.2 0.2 0.1 75.2 2.7 3. ae6.bbr02.eq01.dal03.networklayer.com 0.0% 34003 0.2 0.2 0.2 140.2 7.5 4. ae-11.r01.dllstx04.us.bb.gin.ntt.net 0.0% 34003 1.1 0.5 0.5 6.4 0.3 5. ae-9.r07.dllstx09.us.bb.gin.ntt.net 0.0% 34003 0.7 0.6 0.5 10.9 0.3 6. 0.ae12.BR2.DFW13.ALTER.NET 0.0% 34003 0.5 0.5 0.5 92.6 8.9 7. Just let it run for 15 minutes or so.)
I forgot to point out that it usually is bad at night on the east coast but fine in the morning and early afternoon.
Also how is it only 9 hops? I see about 15 hops to tastyspleen.net. I think you ran that to my work ip.

Q2 doesn't care what time it is.Quote from: caesar on October 18, 2013, 04:42:50 PMAlso how is it only 9 hops? I see about 15 hops to tastyspleen.net. I think you ran that to my work ip.To/from routes are often asymmetrical. I ran the trace to the IP you play Q2 from.I'd recommend running a lengthy WinMTR to tastyspleen.net during your busy/lag times of day. WinMTR gathers more stats than a simple traceroute.Regards,
The evenings are peak usage times. Your ISP is obviously experiencing overload, as in too many people using too much of their bandwidth during peak usage hours. I get the same shit. Every single fucking day from about 4pm until after midnight, my connection turns to wet runny dogshit. You can call them and complain about it, but more than likely they'll tell you there's nothing they can do about it.It also looks like you're being routed to Philly to WashingtonDC to Atlanta and then to Dallas. You could probably get a faster relay time just jumping straight from DC to Dallas (I think there's a main route between those two), but again, you're at the mercy of your ISP. You can call and complain about it, but I'd bet you my left nut they won't do jack shit about it no matter what you say to them.So long story short... it AIN'T a problem with the servers. It's YOUR internet service provider.
