I can see where you are coming from, but let the beatdown come from another SEC team during the regular season.
When the title is on the line, I have to pull for the SEC.  I am also ND hater because they seem to always get the hype.
This year is the first year that they did not fall apart and I think they may live up to it. 
I think they have a legitimate shot at winning this game. I don't think the SEC is as superior this year as they have been in the past.
This year ND played a tougher schedule than they normally play, but I don't think they would be a 12-0 team if they played in the SEC.

UNC would dominate the SEC if they were in it.  The SEC will never invite them because the SEC is scared.

I'm just not an SEC first guy.  Call me a traitor, but I have a method to my madness....Alabama fans as a whole get a bad rap because of their uber "We're the Best" "EVER!" "Forever" attitude. And the average Joe fan seems to be following suit. What these folks need is a good dose of humility.  N.D. 34 - AL 23.  The silence will be golden.

They are waaaaaay over-hyped, but this year I think they have a coach and team that will give Alabama a surprise. Just a gut feeling......nothing more.

I don't think they're too terribly worried about home field advantage or losing anymore games at this point. I don't think the goal was necessarily to lose to Carolina, but it wasn't a must-win game for them either as their performance in the first half would probably indicate. I think they're more worried about keeping all the key personnel healthy for the post-season when it arrives. If they can get Asante Samuel back at corner by then, they'll probably be lucky. But from what I could tell, Atlanta's corners and safeties played that game very relaxed, never sticking to their assignments like glue and letting Steve Smith get open too many times, and not swarming to the ball hardcore when someone runs. I think this next weeks game will be a little different. They might actually put 100% into this one, I'm not sure though. Either they're gonna use the game as a dress rehearsal for however they plan to execute the playoffs, or they'll still be more worried about keeping the speed players on defense healthy and they'll take it easy. Nevertheless, a win against the Giants could be nothing but good for them, as it would add one more win as well as take away a win from a surging team that hasn't locked in their division title yet. Both Washington and Dallas are a mere 1 game back from them. However, if New York were to lose and drop a game behind Washington or Dallas in the division, New York would still probably earn the wild card spot. With that in mind, I don't think there's enough incentive there to make Atlanta feel like a win against New York is mandatory.

That would definitely make the SEC a power conference in basketball.

Clemson and FSU would be butthurt if the SEC brought in Duke & NC and did not ask them.

I was quite surprised by the final score of the Giants @ Atlanta game, hehe. I was hoping the home team would win, but I never expected a total shutout. Even with them "apparently" decimating the New York Giants, I don't put too much stock in the victory. On one hand, Atlanta played a decent game, got 2 interceptions on Eli Manning while not giving any up themselves, stopping 2 or 3 4th down attempts, Ryan threw for 3 TD's and they scored more than 30 points. On the other hand, I don't recall seeing New Yorks RB Ahmad Bradshaw in the game at all which I'd have to say is a major reason why New York wasn't moving the chains any better. All in all, I'd just say that New York was playing horrible moreso than Atlanta was playing well, because honestly, I've seen better from Atlanta earlier this season.

Starting to get a little worried about Seattle now. At the beginning of the season, they looked like nothing particularly special. But for the past 2 or 3 weeks, they've been turning shit on and racking up huge scores against opponents. Next weeks Sunday night game against San Fransisco should be a good test of their abilities.

Speaking of SanFran, they've had a couple of not-so-hot games this season, but last night was a huge win for them. They had Brady and New England on the ropes for most of the game last night, but midway through the 3rd quarter, the Pats knuckled up and fought back to tie game. I was thinking San Fransisco was out of gas and was gonna fall to another one of Tom Brady's 4th quarter comebacks, but then they had a great runback by LaMichael James to set them up in good position. Then another pass to Crabtree when New England was in a vulnerable man coverage play lets them pass one in for the lead. Crabtree made a good move to evade the defender, but I think the better play was the run by James to set it up. I remember watching James play at Oregon and he was always super fast, but you usually never saw him shrugging off tackles and juking like that. Kid's coming along nicely, quite impressive.

Calvin Johnson is a beast, everyone knows he is getting the ball and they still can't stop him.  He just passed Jerry Rice for the single season yardage record.   

He is already over 200 yards tonight, He will probably have 2,000 yards before the regular season ends.

Anyone catch the ECU v. lafayette game? ecu was robbed on the calls @ new orleans... was a shame for such a close game. lets see if I can find a clip of the worst call of the game....
