Breaking bad is an excellent show,  I started it on Netflix with the mrs and only made it to the bathtub falling thru the ceiling before she couldn't watch anymore.  I caught an episode last night with a self storage spot filled with millions in cash. Have to find time to watch everything inbetween. Heard nothing but great things and that each season gets better and better.

I'm a couple eps in past his change of hairdo in the first season. Decided to give it a go on netflix as well and catch up.

Pretty good so far, fairly realistic depictions of most aspects of the southwestern US meth trade, and I like a few of the characters so far and find them all pretty well written.

I dunno about "realistic", hehe. I've never met that many tweaked out junkies that could afford what that blue stuff is supposedly going for. It's not like meth heads are renowned for having lots of cash. They don't really give a shit about the purity level of it either. It can look as dark and reddish brown as a chunk of Georgia red clay someone picked out of a truck tires treads and they'll still smoke the shit out of it.

The show doesn't make it seem glamorous really, but I don't think it makes it look quite as UNglamorous as it really is. As far as I know, the only way you're ever gonna make big time money with it is if you do it just like that with a big professional lab and you produce lots of it at once. And like in the show, you're obviously gonna need someone to sell it to in bulk. But most people don't do it that way. They have their customers and friends going around buying up pills at every drug store and grocery store all over the state, then they whip up an ounce or two, the cooker ends up using a few grams of it themselves (never get high on your own supply?), and in a week or two they run out and people beg the shit out of them to make more. That's usually how it works, with the guy making it being the same one selling it to individual users. Definitely not a job that you want. It happens ALL THE TIME, these tweaker motherfuckers robbing their dealers and killing them. And if they DON'T fucking stab you when you ain't looking, they sure as hell aren't known for being able to shut the hell up. The first time they got arrested and find out what kinda serious sentence meth possession carries with it, they'll be on their knees begging to make some kind of deal if they can inform on someone manufacturing it. I don't think I'll ever need money bad enough to subject myself to having to deal with people like that on a daily basis. I'd sooner clean piss off the toilets at McDonalds for 5 bucks an hour.

I had a couple laughs about the shock people had at the "quality" of the dope and watchin them smoke and not blow enough fog to obscure the room, but I think the scene out this way is a little different than most.

There was insane clear glass/ice like they tout in the show, in southern california/los angeles more than 10 years ago, and it's still around in decent supply now.
The price difference between that and the not so good shit was never very large from personal experience, and the biggest difference other than quality, was really how fast it sold and availability compared to the yellowy/milky stuff.

It's almost harder to find the crappy meth here and most of the crowd I ran with got too spoiled to buy it if they did.
On the super high end, we'd all run into the blue around '01 and by early 02 I knew someone who'd moved down from oregon who was making it in small batches every week.

I bowed out of that 'social group' the next year after losing a good 30 lbs and most of my worldy posessions.

Yeah, you've got some of them that still have enough of their souls left that they still consider themselves to be the "weekender/party-person" types of users. They aren't out sucking dick for money or breaking into their parents houses to steal shit to get dope money. Maybe they manage to hold down a job somewhere. But eventually they get took by the shit. Then their boss somehow finds out and they get cut loose or they get arrested for something stupid and lose their job. And they can't stay clean long enough to get another job. So they end up scraping together what they can to buy whatever they can get their dirt poor sore covered hands on and before long they're smoking some shit off a sheet of tin foil that was dehydrated out of some other tweakers stinky piss.

Yeah. PISS. Sometimes meth comes from piss. People that smoke a lot of it have trace amounts of it in their urine. You can actually re-extract the shit from a tweakers piss.

I'm pretty sure the guys making Bud Light heard of that trick. I'd swear on a stack of bibles that Bud Light was just pissed out re-bottled Budweiser.

My mother called me up and mentioned something about this story. She was saying shit about the police could possibly get involved and track down whoever sent this letter and they could get in big trouble. Honestly, I don't see what laws they've broken with such a letter. I think at the most, maybe this person could get a restraining order against them for harassment but that's about it it. Mom's a little dramatic about shit like this.

I guess maybe it's pretty fucked up that someone would talk about someone elses KID in such terms, but on the other hand... Maybe "One Pissed Off Mom" has a point. I've got neighbors with 4 kids and they're always outside making a loud racket. They don't build houses like they used to. You can fucking hear every little thing going on outside from inside your house with these thin flimsy windows and composite siding. Maybe that kids out there every day screaming like a fucking police siren for hours at a time. That shit would get on my nerves too. Dunno that I'd go so far as to send them a harassing anonymous letter about it. I'd probably just go over and talk to them about it. Some people just don't give a fuck about courtesy though. I got one neighbor that refuses to keep his damn cat outta my yard after asking him 2 or 3 times to keep the little fucker inside at night. So now I'm just gonna shoot the little shit and make him disappear if I see him on my property again. Can't exactly do that with a loud obnoxious child though. A cat goes missing and people stop looking for it after a few days. But a kid goes missing? They tend to look a little longer and harder for those.
