I'm hoping N.O. wins it all this year, but I don't see it happening.  Mark my words....If San Francisco goes to Green Bay, S.F. will be NFC champs.  It's outdoors and and S.F. is built for it.  N.O. ain't.  MR. Rodgers will have a long day. Until then, I predict N.O. will beat the Dirtybirds 84-16.  Heh. I wish.  It will be close if it fits the recent trend, I don't know....Saint's by 2.... 36-34.  PLEASE don't bet on my predictions. I don't.  That should give you a hint.   :P

The Tar Heel defense did not show up for the bowl game.  NC had one of the best defenses in the nation, especially against the run.
Mizzou ran though them like they were a highschool team.  I was very disappointed at the way they played.
I know that they are changing coaches but the players were not into this game, which is sad.

Oh yeah, we got played like a chess match basically(our defense). Our interim head coach is a defense coordinator too, lol, so really I can't help but think he got played. Typical SEC >..... It is disappointing as a fan, because we have more individual talent than mizzou.

It's crazy how unpredictable unc is, to the extent that their unpredictability is predictable lol. I was literally hoping for a 7+ mizzou lead about going into the 2nd half(in hope of us not becoming complacent with a half-time lead, which happens allllllllll the time). But that was BEYOND wishful thinking, obviously haha.

Glad you shared my disappointment somewhat at least, I guess ;)

WHO DAT?  Nothing sweeter than putting a beat down on Atlanta, well maybe 2nd behind Jerry's BOYS.  N.O. actually played defense with a little aggression and the offense ran the ball some.  Hmm, maybe they are better than I thought or they are just "getting on a roll".  Dang it, they'll lose to Carolina next week....just watch  >:(

NC had one of the best defenses in the nation, especially against the run.

False. UNC's defense hasn't been much all year. One week, they'd handle business kinda okay, then the next they'd fall on their face. Georgia Tech, basically an ALL RUN team, put them away. And even though GT does nothing but run every down, they still didn't lead the nation in rushing yards. That's QUITE a statement. No, to be more exact, that's quite a FAILURE on Georgia Tech's part. If all you do for offense is run every single play and you're getting beat in the rushing ranking by teams that pass 50%/rush 50%, then you ain't shit to be afraid of at all. And furthermore, if your defense is having trouble with a triple option run team like GT, then either your defensive players stink, or your coach isn't preparing your defense in practice for such a defense like he should be.

From what I can tell, triple option run teams count on their opponent not being entirely prepared to properly defend it. You basically have to just accept the fact that you're gonna have to call man coverage plays for EVERY single play. Zone coverage doesn't provide enough bodies charging at the line and around the tackles, and it allows them to pick up more than 5 yards at a time every carry, sometimes more. Having each man defending one man right at the line and within 10-15 yards of the line makes it harder for them find holes to run through. You pretty much have to rely on your cornerbacks being able to run down the field on top of the WR's without letting them get too far over the top for the rare pass play they toss in, but most triple option run teams are predictable about WHEN they will pass: When the score gets too lopsided for them to keep running.

In my opinion, the full-time triple option run offense is an absolutely RETARDED way to go. It's way too predictable. It's also boring as hell to watch as a fan unless your quarterback, fullback, and halfback are all really big guys like a Trent Richardson of Alabama that can smash through walls and drag people along with them. Pretty much all you gotta do is hug your safeties up close and let the linebackers and safeties punch them in the mouth when they hand off and run to the line. Georgia Tech is a prime example of how effective it is. The first year they had Paul Johnson at Head Coach and most people weren't entirely aware of his style of play, it worked against most of the teams they played because they weren't prepared for it. It was like running trick plays every down. Now that people figured out the game plan and how to stop it, they've had a hell of a time winning games with it. It just isn't a winning strategy.

Wow, Focalor, you may have thought I was kidding in previous posts, but you do have an ability to analyze football.  Send ESPN some video (minus the cussin') and who knows - you could be the next "average fan analyst/predictor" .  There is already some dufuss on FOX that does it....can't remember his name.

Now, about the Saints and Falcons........Surely you watched the game? Thoughts? They could meet again if I understand the playoff seeding correctly.

I just have a funny feeling S.F. will be a tough out for whomever meets them in the playoff rounds.

Yeah, I knew how the NC State game was gonna turn out. NC State's been pretty good this year. It's a shame that bullshit teams like Texas Longhorns make the top 25 and a team like NC State doesn't.

Falcons played just like I thought they would: like SHIT. Seriously, they should volunteer to give their wild card spot to the next team in line, because they don't even have the longest longshot in the history of longshots at winning the Super Bowl this year.

NCSTATE had a horrible first half of the season. All of their wins except for that blow out against clemson(also home) was a close game at home about, although they did finish the last 2-3 games of the season outside that fact... starting like, 2-6 or something. They finished strong and made up for it though, despite that I guess... but "pretty good" seemed like an exaggeration to me in regard to the "year", state/ecu are like, the only 2 other teams I REALLY follow aside from unc. UNC practically was the opposite, we started out semi-decent and finished bad. As a rule, ncstate plays better football than UNC(defense), no matter the recruits. That's been apparent over the years for anyone, prob. even more prominently to those out of state.

Also, a little too much stock is being placed into this GA tech UNC game. I mean look at Va tech v. Ga tech, then Va tech v. UNC...... I can almost go inasmuch that unc "should" have won that game due to the the numerous, legitimate bad calls directly resulting in TDs and VA tech only beating us by 3(they beat ga tech by 2-3 TDs, if I recall right... not bothering looking it up). Aside from the bad calls directly affecting the game, the only reason why unc va tech ended up being pretty close is because of a 4th quarter run we had(I know). Anyway, I'm not making any point by that except for the first sentence of this paragraph. our D has never been strong lmao, although we have a SINGLE awesome defensive lineman lol. Just like we have a great freshman RB(giovani), an..... above average sophmore QB, and a great WR(d. jones). The guys we have to back these play makers up aren't too bad either.. We need a coach to revolutionize our defense basically, so when a curve ball gets thrown at us we aren't fucking stumped the whole entire game....(which, I guess we did find a new coach.....we'll see how it goes).

anyway, i love unc, I don't pretend like we're anything we're not..... WE SUCK ASS.

but saying that nc state did "pretty good" and all the unc hate...... that is......well.... We already beat louisville this year, and there's several instances like, comparing ncstate's, unc's and wake forest's games with each other that show that's a little off.

unc's losses = ga tech by 7, miami by 6, clemson 59-38(clemson beat va tech worse than this in the acc championship), ncstate 13-0(lmao), and that VA tech game

and mizzou.....

I guess what I'm saying is that it's hard to compare unc and state anyway, although state may be more predictable(consistent) by a little bit, all the data is against teams that are pretty unpredictable(ACC). In general(aside from my other observations).. unc/state did about the same this year, whether state was doing well while unc was sucking ass or not, I guess.

This is the latest on our new coaching staff:

I wasn't dissing UNC by saying that NCState did pretty good, so go ahead and put that pin back in the grenade there. :D More or less what I was trying to convey was how disappointed I was that teams like Auburn(25) and Texas(24) ended up in the top25 by bowl season. I didn't really keep up with either one of those teams for the whole season, but I definitely remember how they started. Auburns loss to UGA was a pretty big spanking, and at the first of the year, Texas was still using that Gilbert guy that everyone remembers taking over at QB for Colt McCoy in the BCS Title game against Alabama year before last. That shit was 2 years ago, and at the beginning of THIS year, he STILL looked like a lost little puppy dog running around the field. But anyway, that's basically the point I had in mind when saying that NCState did okay and it was a shame that someone like them couldn't elbow a way into the top 25.

I don't think the BCS title game this year is really gonna be the best one to watch. The ones I'm particularly interested in seeing are Mondays matchups. Michigan State and UGA should be a good one... maybe I'm playing favorites there, but I still think Michigan State and Georgia are pretty evenly matched, even though I still think Georgia will win. 8) Winsconsin and Oregon should be really good. Oregon might've had a shot at playing LSU in the BCS title game had they not lost to USC in that crazy upset back in mid-November, but that still would've been a coin flip between them and Alabama since both teams only loss would've been to LSU. So in a way, it was kinda good that happened, left no questions about who the deserving team was. And Oregon still gets into the Rose Bowl, probably the 2nd most prestigious game of bowl season. Stanford and Oklahoma should be another good one. Really a toss up there. Andrew Luck is pretty damn good, but I'm hoping his last game in college will be a loss just to piss in the cheerios of Indianapolis Colts fans. :dohdohdoh:

Oh yeah... speaking of highly-regarded college QB's entering the NFL...

I can't wait for some team to waste their early 1st round draft pick on Boise State's Kellan Moore. That little joke looks like a lesbian girl. And I'll put my left nut on a bet that he won't have anywhere NEAR the success in the NFL that he had in college playing against FBS division 1 peewee leaguers. I'm still LOL'ing at the fact that they'll be officially in the Big East for 2013. They have one half-way decent QB for a few years who runs all over everyone else in the FBS, and now they think they'll be able to step up to the pee trough and piss with the big boys year in and year out. I don't see it happening.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
