That'd explain a lot. I checked out the frag stats a bit yesterday trying to determine if they even play at a similar level and was suprised to see that "Tubby" isn't very good when compared to the rest of the tubby aliases which I would assume were all Perky.

Although I've used different aliases from home and work for a couple years at a time, I'll defer to quadz' superior logging and data mining abilities.

Tubby, if you really aren't the other guy, I apologize for runnin you thru the wringer over Perky's alias/spoofing baloney and cheats.

But he's using AC like a good boy, what's the reason for banning him? Name spoofing or wallhacking in the past?
I've spec'ed him multiple times hoping to record some evidence but without success and I haven't seen any demos of him using cheats, none. All I've seen is his name on the ACstats site some time ago.

due to how often his IP changes it's hard to get every single hit, but here's just the ones that were on Tastyspleen that I know of, and can attribue to 'Perky' by comparing the IP and login identity he uses in IRC to the in-game ones at the time, along with the ISP info. (If anyone wanted to verify, they're all in the ac page for the old TS server IP that shows in the pic)

If he's spoofing others to hide who he is, or just to be a griefing dick, then he may have pushed his luck that one time too many after trying a bunch of shit over the course of 2 years.

Could be that he's never managed to get past AC with anything, but you start to wonder about intent when someone keeps showing up with the same shit, and where they were and what they were doing just before they showed up with the aforementioned shit.

I could see using a wh to view demos, but a proxy? There's not really a need to have something in between your client and the server filtering your packets unless you are doing something fishy.

Essentially this.

The active name-ban to restrict his ability to spoof other players dates back to almost a year ago. He knows he's not supposed to be spoofing player names.

And his appearances in the AC hall of shame landed him a forced-AC subnet awhile back.

But, basically, I was annoyed at having to spend a chunk of time researching this issue, only to find that once again my time is being wasted by his douchebaggery.

Thus the ban.

It's not necessarily permanent (apart from the name restriction.)

BTW, you can play Last Man Standing on the rocket arena server. (GOTO RA2)

I'm not likely to add new weapon types to the vanilla/dm servers. However we do have GOTO FREEZEE for a freezetag server.

Our FFA mod does have the capability to alter your starting weapons/ammo. So supplying players with all weapons could be accomplished without coding a new mod.

BTW, I like sewer64 a lot... so go for it.

So how about this (my latest idea):

People always complain about players who have a habit of using the BFG to score frags - they tend to think it's 'lame', which is fair enuff I guess, since it's a very powerful weapon which takes little skill to use. So, why not make it that whenever a player fires the BFG, he or she automatically loses 20 health.

Call it a sort of bfg tax.
