I'm playing Quake2. And I think my computer is on LSD. Motherfucker won't share none with me.

This is what happens when I play my separate stock install of Quake2 using v3.20 and then switch to software mode. I tried to get a normal screenshot of it, but the resulting PCX screenshots looked completely normal once I applied the Q2 color palette in photoshop. I then tried to get a screenshot using Fraps, and it wouldn't work properly. (Sigh  ) I then tried making a VIDEO with Fraps... no go on that one too. I even tried the good ole "print screen" button and that wouldn't work.

So I finally had to break out my stupid digital camera and take a photo of my monitor.

Dunno what's going on, but for some reason it seems to be perhaps inverting the color palette when I switch to software rendering in 3.20. But if I go to my video settings and turn off fullscreen to play in windowed mode, it goes normal. If I go back to fullscreen, it looks like a 60's acid trip again.

It would be kinda cool if it stayed that way, but as soon as you pick up a weapon or any item, the screen flashes and the colors shift and only look about 35% as psychedelic. Fuckin weirdness.

I'm a big GTA fan, and when I heard they were gonna reboot the old GTA's (GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas) with some updates as yet another shameless money-grab, I was thinkin'... "Cool!" But I should've thought a little harder. GTA5 was riddled with bugs and fuck-ups when it came out. Even the XboxOne and PS4 versions were buggy all over the place, but still playable. And here it is 6 damned years later, and they're STILL issuing updates to fix all the shit that was wrong with it. So why should it surprise anyone that the "upgraded" versions of old GTA games are screwed up too?

I mean... all you gotta do is a Google video search for "GTA Definitive Edition bugs" and you get a plethora of videos highlighting the FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIL.

This is one is called "Glitches & Bugs Compilation 11". That means he made 10 other videos before this one. Holy ass-balls.

And last I heard, the two main guys responsible the GTA franchise up til GTA5 have finally quit the company completely,... which means that whenever the hell they get around to putting GTA6 out, you can bet your grammaw's ass it's probably gonna be a disaster.

"Who's Your Daddy"

Ran across this game on Xbox earlier today, had a little fun screwing around with it. Game costs 4.99, but you can get a free 2 hr trial of it.

The point of the game is one or two other people are babies, and one other person is the daddy. The daddy's job is to do what he can to prevent the babies from killing themselves before the time limit. So far I've made the baby drink bleach, stick a fork in an electrical outlet, and crawl into a wood chipper.

Planet Coaster.

Not playing it... yet. Need a better video card and more RAM first. So far I'm just watching videos of parks others have built. I used to mess around with Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 though and it was kinda interesting.

Planet Coaster is pretty much Roller Coaster Tycoon 4. (long story, google it if you're interested.) You can do scenarios where you start with an amount of money and build something to hit certain goals the game has for you, whether its park attendance or income or something... but I never screw with that. I do sandbox mode where you have unlimited money and just build whatever you want.

Been watching videos on this Channel 5 gaming youtube channel where they have build contests. Some of the things people build are amazing. The most amazing park I've seen so far... (this thing probably took most of one full year to build, TONS of individual pieces, truly expert level building)

Hopefully I can manage to scrounge up enough to get me a copy of this on PC when it releases on May 13th. Hell, I'll sell a kidney if I have to. Been looking forward to this one since I first heard about it late last year. I finally got a machine that should be able to run it now. Prices finally started coming down a tad and was able to snag me an MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super GamingX 6gb video card with the stupid pretty RGB lights to go along with the new 32gb of stupid pretty RGB lighted RAM I got in this thing now. 

Looks kinda like they "borrowed" elements from Left 4 Dead, maybe a little bit from the Friday the 13th game. Should be ridiculously bloody and fun though.

Well I tried some Quake Champions (runs SWEET on Ultra settings with my new hardware upgrades!) but my skill level is SO far behind everyone else's I gave up in disgust after two matches.

More on GTA Online...

Me and ReaL been playing a little GTA Online here and there, mostly banging out the Cayo Perico heist. He's found a glitch that allows him to play the heist finale over and over again with the panther statue (highest payout of all possible targets) as the main target. Maybe he'll come here and read this, mostly addressing ReaL here:

Dude. They completely FUCKED the Cayo Perico heist. They might've even patched whatever was letting you run the finale over and over, not sure. But I for sure know they've modded the game to make all cameras spot dead bodies and all guards spot dead bodies. A couple nights ago I was running through the heist. I infiltrated in a smuggler plane at the airstrip, picked up weapons from the weapons drop in the hangar, whacked all the guards around the airstrip and set off no alarms. Filled the loot bag with secondary targets, then headed to the main compound, going over the wall with the grappling hook from the right side of the villa. No alarms at that point. I went through the villa like I always do, shooting the guard patrolling the middle area between the main office and the two rear buildings. But when the juggernaut guard finally made his way down there, he spotted the body.

 

After about an hour and a half of doing it over and over again, it seemed like I couldn't kill ANY GUARDS AT ALL or else once I left the office after hitting the vault, the alarm would go off. So... I guess... from now on, you have to get into the office without killing ANYONE AT ALL, or else when you try to leave, the alarm will sound. Leaving the compound is tricky now too. You have to make sure you take out the guy patrolling the inside of the fence area in the jeep before he comes across any bodies where you've killed guards - like the one that stands by the dirt bike right in front of the front door to the villa.

So fuckin frustrating. They obviously didn't change this as a "gameplay improvement", they only did it to make the heist way more difficult and frustrating so they can sell more of the stupid ridiculous Shark Cards.

Got to play the new Diablo 4 Beta a couple of weekends ago.  Always enjoy the Diablo games. Ill be moving to there once full game comes in June

I think so. I don't have an RTX card myself - my mobo is kinda older and the PCIe slot is 3.0 not the faster 4.0 you need for newer cards like the RTX ones. This GTX 1660 super I'm using is probably just about the fastest and best thing I can possibly use with this system.

I've seen plenty of other people on discord commenting on how great Q2rtx is though. Pretty sure I've heard them talk about doing multiplayer with it too, so it's probably possible. Not sure how consistent and smooth it would be in a crowded game with lots of explosions and effects going off all over the place.

yeah read those too, but i kept wondrin if like if Im using RTX with all those fancy looks you get then Ill connect to TS dm, would i be able to do so and if I can, do i still get all the bells and whistles that comes with the textures + lights?

Actually,... maybe not, I'm not sure. I'm looking at it on steam, and it only mentions "single-player" on the page. Nothing really explains it that well other than a brief video showing the lighting effects. Apparently it's just a free add-on that still requires the full game. I dunno man, I guess try it out. If it works, it works.
