And now for something completely the same...

I guess you play GTA5 every once in a while, quadz? I do it on XboxOne only. Wasn't willing to buy a 2nd copy of the game for PC, especially after what happened with how incurably sluggish GTA4 ran on the PC. I've stuck with it as one of the only games I bother playing since the XboxOne came out, which was about 6 years ago now I think.

I've gotten pretty much all the unlockables there are. I know I haven't completed all the stunt jumps for online. I think I've gotten all the "under the bridge" flying checkpoints in online. Don't know if I've done the all the "knife edge" flying checkpoints in online either.

But all the collectibles I've done. Found all of the Red Dead playing cards to get the custom card deck for my Casino Penthouse table. Did whatever the thing was to get the gold revolver and the Red Dead single action Navy revolver. If it's collectible and gives an unlockable reward, I've probably already done it.

The last update has 10 collectibles you have to find and return to the Soloman Richards movie studio. Dunno if you've tried this one, but it's a pain in the ass. The last 2 or 3 things spawn as "random events" in one of three or four predetermined locations, they aren't just THERE and available to find always. You have to wait and get lucky basically. But once you get all 10 of the movie prop collectibles, you get the alien costume.

Couple more maybe you weren't aware of.

I think it's part of the Nightclub update. If you drink the MacBeth whiskey in your nightclub to where you pass out and wake up in random places, one of the places you can randomly spawn in is on the roof of the Epsilon church, and you'll be wearing a light blue "Kifflom" T-shirt, which is the unlockable. It can be easy to unlock... or it can be REALLY FUCKING HARD. You have to keep going back to the club and passing out repeatedly to spawn in all the random places. Some people said they got the Kifflom shirt after about 15 or 30 mins of trying. It took me literally about 10 hours of playing over 2 or 3 days to finally hit the random spawn spot and get the shirt.

Also, if you go to the bathroom in your nightclub and repeatedly tip the bathroom attendant $1 about 575 times, a message will pop up above your mini-map saying "bearing the truth", at which point you can stop and go to your nightclub wardrobe closet and find the blue and white Epsilon Program robes in your Outfits>Special slot.

It's the latest game in the Arena FPS genre (Quake, etc.), but it's being pushed by Epic Games (Fortnite), so hopefully it'll gather a following (it's free to play). Great netcode, familiar weapons, good maps, and super smooth gameplay. Movement is very similar to Quake with strafe jumping, rocket jumps, etc. If you're looking for something quake-like, but with newer technology under the hood, this is definitely worth a try.

Found lots of videos of gameplay of this 150-player Civil War combat simulation game called War of Rights. I'm not currently playing this myself. I'd LIKE to, but I don't know that my old ass PC would run it. I might look into it, if I can pry myself away from GTA Online. From what little I've read about it, it's not "complete" yet, and it's being funded on kickstarter I think. Since it first saw live play, apparently they've added artillery/cannon crews to the game, and they planned on adding a few other things like drummers, etc. Looks pretty fun. The 150-man capacity games where you have several different regiments per side adds huge elements of tactics, strategy, timing, and teamwork to what's essentially a massive first-person shooter.

Quadz, good week to play GTA Online this week. This weeks event thing is 50% bonus on the Cayo Perico heist. Dunno if you've played it yet. This heist is great. You can run it solo, and it's pretty easy if you grab the secondary loot FIRST, then you get the method down for infiltrating the main compound for the primary target. I've worked up to a little over 50 million in my bank account now. Most I've ever had at one time.

But it makes me almost scared to see what the next game update might be. It's great that they finally give us a way to make 1 million in a "REASONABLE" amount of time, rather than spending 10 hours grinding contact missions over and over until you wanna stab your eyeballs out with a pencil. But I'm thinking... there's gotta be a reason why they did this. I can't believe they'd do this unless the next planned update is gonna feature SUPER-DUPER EXPENSIVE items, shit to make the ridiculous pointless 10 million dollar gold plated leer jet look like mere pennies... which I was gullible enough to buy several years ago.

Speaking of the Cayo Perico heist... this guy attempts a "pacifists" no-kill completion of the Cayo Perico heist. I've run the heist probably more than 100 times since it released, so I know the guard movement patterns in the main compound very well. I was wondering how the hell he'd get past the bodyguard outside of the office door. This shit's hilarious. The ridiculous awkwardness begins at about 4mins.

Usually I can steamroll right through the heist like fucking clockwork with no problems. But occasionally, it's like the game fucking HATES me, and it makes one of the 2nd men in a group of 2 guys you have to kill do that bob-n-weave bullshit and BLOW my fucking progress.

This is why I always get the "crack shot" weapon loadout with the glock machine pistol and sniper rifle. Whenever there's two enemies facing each other, I try to 2-for-1 headshot them if it's AT ALL possible to avoid having the second one "dodgebot" me.

Finally, proper abuse of modern GPU computing power to achieve what we used to brainstorm about in 80s/90s game design sessions. "Well what if we had a MASSSIVE HORDE of enemies? … C'mon now, the machine has enough DMA cycles to draw about 16 of those things. Next idea?"
