He says civilians can own it, but there has to more to it than that. I mean it's not like you can go down to your local Bass Pro Shop and pick up a 10 pack of 40mm shells. I can't believe it was ever invented to begin with unless it's intended as an anti-aircraft gun. If you want an overpowered cannon to use as a terrorizing anti-personnel weapon, a tank would be 100 times better because it can move quicker and pursue or retreat. Good to see one of these old WW2 cannons in good shape though. A lot of American Legion posts around the country have old WW2 and Vietnam era artillery sitting on the front lawns on display, and they rarely take good care of them. They slap some Army issued jungle green paint on them and go, meanwhile there's a billion birds, bats, and bees living inside of them and they rust from the inside out.

Yup. You should see the tanks next to the armory in DT Vancouver. I don't even know the kind but it's small and stubby like the one in the Metal Slug arcade games.

There's a testing grounds in the suburb I grew up in. We would ride our bmx's around the course and get muddy as fuck. Got chased out by some young guys on patrol riding a gator and never went back.

Perhaps an old WW2 Sherman, they were pretty small. Those were SHITTY tanks too, the Nazi's had the US completely outclassed in any head to head tank battle. Pretty sure the guns on them only had half the range the Panzers and Tigers had. The only reason they didn't become famous failures is because of the sheer numbers of them the US was able to produce for the war. I guess the idea was to overwhelm any Nazi armored divisions and force them to retreat rather than to duke it out with equal numbers. After hearing about their huge success in the very short campaigns on Poland and France, they knew better than to underestimate them. Pretty sure the Shermans were slow as hell too. Tigers and Panzers were almost TOO fast. They frequently outran ground support and supply lines, almost to the Nazi's detriment after several divisions bypassed the Maginot Line at the French-German border and swept north to the French coast effectively surrounding the divisions of French and British soldiers that weren't able to pull back farther into France in time. Had the French and British been able to mount a large enough counter-attack on the thinned out route the Nazi armored divisions had just carved out in less than a day, they might've been able to surround THEM and annihilate them.
