Well their point is that it's a few normal unknowns, people without a criminal record, people who can legally obtain weapons, who are supplying them to those who can't obtain them legally. They figure if they just make it a huge pain in the ass, these people will go, "Wow, I hate having to wait and fill out shitloads of forms... yeah, let's stop selling shitty nines and pocket machine guns for a profit to homeboys on the corner."

Pretty fucking stupid.

I gotta blame the incompetency of the judicial system a little bit. They do away with capital punishment all over the place, and then hand out 20 year sentences per murder. Shit, 20 years ain't too bad. I could do 20 if I had to. One life is worth 20 years behind bars? Dammit man, nice to know our government obviously values human life that much, huh?

It's not the arrow, its just the nock where the arrow clicks into the bow string. Makes it easier to see the arrows flight path during the shot and easier to find the arrow after the shot is taken. If you're 15 to 20 feet off the ground in a tree stand and plug one down straight through a deer 30 yards away, them damn things can sometimes have enough leftover velocity to burrow into the ground up to the fletching. A lot of times you'll be set up just as the sun is about to go down, and the last thing you wanna do is go following blood trails too soon after the hit and have your deer spook off another 1/2 mile into the woods before it finally crashes. Helps to find them in low light, and no one wants to lose a good broadhead especially after it's landed a nice trophy. I'm kinda sentimental about my broadheads. I still have the one I whacked a doe with last year. I was using an old all-wood recurve bow made by Sears too, lol. Things a piece of shit, but it got the job done. I had some busted up ears of corn in a pile sitting about 30 feet from the ground blind I made out of tree limbs about 2 weeks before. She came in about 25 minutes after the sun came up. She finally went around to one side of the pile and was facing away, so I got up on my knees and shot it right up under her left shoulder. She ran probably 400 feet off to the other side of the pasture and over the hill out of sight. When it landed, I was like "DAMN! YES!", because I thought I nailed her perfectly through the lungs and heart, but she just kept on running and running until I couldn't see her anymore, and then I started thinking, ".....Oh shit. I must've missed and just wounded her. FUCK!" I followed where I saw her run to, and maybe another 20 feet beyond the tree line, there's a tiny creek that runs through, and there she was dove head first into it.

That's why I've decided to do the bowhunting thing for whitetail around here. If I use a rifle, I feel like I'm cheating. I might use a pistol if I ever come across some MONSTER 170inch buck that I couldn't live without bagging and wouldn't want to risk missing with a bow. I've got my grandpa's old Mauser in shape now and been shooting it a little. I swear, it's the most accurate rifle I've ever fired in my life. I could pluck the eye out of a gnat at 400 yards with this bastard. I can't bring myself to use it on some dumb deer though. On a coyote, fuck yeah, those little shits don't get any consideration from me.

Glad you got the Mauser back into working condition.   I'll put it up against an old Springfield 30.06 any day though :)

Understand the nock thing now..  all the arrows we use are cheap target arrows,  don't have changeable nocks.

Yeah, depends on the individual manufacturer and the features of that arrow, but most of them have female threads at both ends in case you need to replace a nock, replace a broken broadhead, or just want to play around with different broadhead weights. I've got a few of these Muzzy MX-3's, but I might go with something a little fancier whenever I get around to getting a better bow come fall. I was thinking about a crossbow, but I think I can get a pretty decent compound bow a little cheaper.

Bowhunting with the lumenok illuminated arrow nock.

There are certainly advantages to this "flaming" nock - like seeing where you hit or missed (high/low/right/left) and making adjustments if you get another shot. On the last clip when the man makes a noise to freeze the deer (not a bad tactic), the deer turns directly toward the noise and CLEARLY sees something odd coming at him. It wasn't a big movement, but he crouched to let the arrow fly over his back. So, there are + and -

Bow hunters are a different breed from the Joe Average hunter.  I'm not a bow hunter.  But I have friends who are, and they are quiet, patient, sneaky, smart, and have scouted the area they plan to hunt until they can almost predict where a deer will be at a certain time.  But then you throw in the effects of temperature, wind, rain, abundance of acorns, etc. and it makes the challenge even greater.  I don't want to go e-Oprah on you Focalor, but the sense I get from your posts suggest to me you have the bow hunter mentality.  Get a good one, train, and fill your freezer full of steroid, hormone free delicious protein.  :righteous:

I didn't watch it again, but I'm assuming the guy made a grunt call with his mouth. Sometimes that's what you have to do to get the deer to stop long enough to get a shot off. Sometimes you'll have one window in an area to put the shot on the deer with an arrow because of low hanging tree branches that will deflect the shot, so if the deer starts moving out of that zone while you've got an arrow notched and drawn, you don't have time to pick up the grunt call or the antler rattler, so you have to make a kinda low "MEH" sound sort of like a bucks grunt. Of course, you only want to do it if you're already drawn and ready to release because it's gonna get the deer looking in your direction. If you were to make any other sudden movements, it would more than likely dart away. During the rut (the peak mating season), bucks that come in contact with one another will let out low guttural grunts sometimes sounding similar to the way a cow goes moo to challenge other bucks. If it gets down to it, bucks will lock antlers and begin fighting for dominance within an area and the right to mate with does in that area. That's why hunters often bring along a pair a antlers to rattle or some plastic antler rattling call to attract the attention of curious does and bucks in the area.

Anyway, yeah, sometimes if you have to make a grunt with your mouth to stop a deer for a shot, they'll see or hear you release the arrow and dart away. They have pretty quick reflexes, I've seen hunts on TV where bucks have actually hurdled incoming arrows from 40 or 50 feet away without getting hit.

I have rifles, some really good ones too. My roommate has a Browning A-Bolt he uses for hunting. I've hunted coyote with rifles plenty, but I'm looking for something a little more challenging and fun. Coyotes don't really stand still long enough to hit with an arrow. And shooting a deer with a rifle might be a little more humane with a surgical shot with a 30-06 round, but I'm mainly doing it for sport. The meat is just a bonus. Not much sport or challenge to it when I know I can't miss anything I can see with a scope. With a bow, range and strategy plays a big role. I don't have a rangefinder spotting scope at the moment, so I have to figure out where I'm going to set up a blind or stand and then measure off the distance beforehand to where the bait is and each nearby tree and REMEMBER those numbers to know how and where to aim to get the shot where it needs to be.

I've been scouting a pretty good sized area of farmland behind my house since late last summer, but haven't really seen much. I have a trail camera stuck to a tree by my corn field to see what's going on out there, hopefully I can get some bucks coming around before winter hits. Last year, all I got on the trail cam was a couple of does and fawns, and only ended up shooting a doe. I'm gonna try setting the cam up in a few other spots for a few weeks at a time as the summer goes on to see if I can catch any other packs of deer moving through. I've seen one spot in the wooded area between two of the smaller cow pastures by the turf farm where I've found what looks like deer tracks in the mud along the banks of irrigation runoff ditch coming through. Gonna set the camera up on a tree and put some food out there in a week or two.

Made a sweet deal at the range gun store.

I had an m44 -> http://pictures.auctionarms.com/7665223051/10276654/ee570e5718b6e8919c959a1b88e534d8.jpg

Mine was without the bayonet.  Pumped over 1000 rounds thru it over the years.  The stock developed a nasty crack along the right side.
The screw on the stock always came loose, and a screw in the magazine always came loose too (when it popped out the 5th bullet
would never feed up enough to load)

the plan was to take it to the range, blast off my last 250 rounds and sell it off to the shop.  Figured 50 bucks ( I paid $89.00 for it )
Been wanting to get an m91 anyhow,  just pick one up at a local show for around 140 for a nice one.

The shop wanted to do a straight trade, after finding out I wanted an m91.  They had one they rented out, was ok but not as nice as I wanted.
they had 2 more in the long gun display room.  Did a straight trade (plus $20) for a super clean, very little wear/strong clean bore m91 with a poly stock.
I liked the poly stock, and that alone is worth $75.

I'm tickled pink,  hope they dont hold a grudge.  Don't think he noticed the crack in the stock.  But I didn't notice a broken barrel bushing on a s&w .22
I had bought there a few years ago :)

Can't wait to try it out,  loved the way the m44 shot and this has a longer barrel/sight radius.
Usually the loudest thing there when we go, and always turned a few heads.

Never shot one, but if it's like the old ww2 nagants, they supposedly kickback like a pissed off rodeo bull. Anyway, less than 100 bucks for any bolt rifle that shoots straight and accurate up to 100 yards these days is still a good deal no matter what.

Yeah, should be 7.62 cartridges. With a good scope and a bipod, I bet that thing can be deviously surgical at half a mile.

Yeah,  it's the wwII nagant.  Russia's counterpart to the German mauser

This is the non-sniper model,  doesn't have the scope mount holes. Those are harder to find.
I'm all about iron sights anyhow.   :D

And now, as usual, we finally get to this pathetic buffoon, once again, pettily grasping at straws for any desperate tiny false 'victory' it genuinely believes it can win.

"I freely admit to my faults but this degenerate can't even recognise his nevermind admit them."

I asked you why, and you only responded with "everyone's a sinner." That's less "freely admitting your faults" and more of a minimization of them. Just saying.
