I'd rather all of them just take a year off. UFC can get away with it because it's a 1-on-1 game. Racing gets away with it because one car length is good enough for social distancing. Baseball should've scrapped the year. The season was 3/4 gone when they started. No one's really gonna care who wins the World Series this year. They won't have "REALLY" won it.

I tried to find the story but no luck - I can't remember if it was a conference official or the press that said "we only need the SEC & ACC because that is who plays for the national championship each year anyway".

So, nebraska and iowa are the only two big 10 teams that want to play. When asked whether nebraska could play non conference opponents the big 10 said this:

But, here's an interesting tidbit. That same exact commissioner of the big 10 who is the boss of the entire conference has a son that plays at Mississippi State. When asked if his son will be playing football at Mississippi State this season he replied "Yes, it was a family decision".

I'm not sure how much this will affect Georgia but I'll state my opinion. It'll negatively impact them barely. I'm an ACC guy and enjoy ACC qb's getting attention, but this kid was 3rd or 4th best in the ACC(it's important to note that the top 2, lawrence and howell, are both top 5 in the nation) and he transferred to Georgia and suddenly became twice as good. I think Newman is better than the USC kid by a little but I honestly don't know for sure. Georgia should be fine.

This year doesn't even really count at all anymore, does it? Whoever wins the National Title won't really have won it. That's why the NCAA might as well make it mandatory and scrap this football season for EVERY school.

Well, that's one way to look at it. It appears that the season will at least start though, being that everyone plays 9 days from now. I doubt you think the season is going to crumble from now until then. By the way, not sure if you saw but Trump called the big 10 commissioner and got their football season back, lol. Oct 9th for big 10. I think it's just pac and mac now that are out.

So yeah there will be an asterisk beside the 2020 season. But, IF the season does play out, I would think the team that emerges victorious from a 10 game sec slate is going to look really damn good whoever that may be. Virginia tech and Louisville are both bottom top 25, UNC is 17th, Notre Dame 10th, Clemson 1st or 2nd. All teams play each other except UNC vs Clemson, and ND vs VT(those are the 4 best teams in the ACC anyway so if they didn't let up they will in championship game) in regular season. The winner of that will have earned their spot too. + Winner of big 10, then undefeated big 12 or #2 SEC.

Just a reminder, ND beat VT by 1 pt in South bend last year. I think UNC is going to throttle them so hard that they'll let off the gas to give them some mercy points.
