I heard something on the news today about the Ivy League conference opting out of the upcoming season. Unless something drastic happens, the rest will have to follow suit. Looks like probably no college football this year.

I've been saying it for a long time. The big 10 gets overrated in the preseason, then that overrated value just gets passed around in house since they don't play anyone out of conference. It happens every season. Nebraska is the biggest example. They're ranked in the beginning then big 10 teams all get boosts in the ranking by beating them. Looks like the other conferences are going to follow the big 10's example. No Auburn and UCF for NC now. Hopefully they can get games with Clemson and Notre Dame.

Hell no. Notre dame should get stuck playing nothing but the 4 or 5 other shitties in the indie conference.

edit: or did Notre Dame move to the ACC? I forget. Am I mistaken, because I thought Notre Dame was sort of considered one of the uppity Ivy League colleges? Or maybe not, I dunno.

Notre dame is in the ACC fully for basketball, but halfway tie football, which is why they play 4-5 acc opponents each year. They already announced that if and when the conference only games rule starts they'll let them replace everything with acc games.

I don't get the logic here. Playing only in-conference games mitigates WHAT risk exactly? Is there a difference between traveling from... let's say Arizona to South Carolina, versus traveling from South Bend, Indiana (or West Virginia/Virginia) to perhaps Miami, Florida? Or even traveling smaller distances a mere one state away from Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Athens, Georgia?

Their greedy motives are showing. Case numbers are skyrocketing, states are going backwards to Stage 1 re-opening procedures, and none of these pussies are willing to state the obvious (that the protests have a role in the virus resurgence). The only SENSIBLE thing is to call off the season, or at the very least call it "postponed indefinitely".

It doesn't make any sense. I was mainly joking about the big 10 getting what they've always wanted, but they kinda are haha.

I don't get why they're not taking some drastic measures in order to pull it off. Near empty stands, professional sanitizing crews, etc. I know you can't make a "fight island" like in ufc but do something at least.. I'd even pay extra (a little) to support something like that.

Cool concept but I'd pull a couple switches with the SEC east and ACC south. Those look a tad tougher than their counterparts.
