metal, if you're going to buy a higher-end video card, perhaps go with a geforce 8600GT. Here in Canada, an eVGA geforce 7600GT is the same price ($135) as an eVGA geforce 8600GT. The Geforce 8 series is supported by DirectX 10, whereas there's no support for the 7 series.
anyone out there that runs quake 2 on xp pro x64, i'd like to see your autoexec/ hear about your settings
Once you get the geforce card in there it should be fine, as they tend to work very well with quake games..
... but both of them crash the same way currently.
ok, did some of my own research and talked to a few of my friends that build comps, i think im gonna try for the 7900GS.. and probably later look for 2GB of ddr for my other slot
cl_particles 0 and it works fine in GL. anyone ever heard of that?
