My long time apprication of the europeen football club Arsenal in the UK.

I was the only player on my soccer team that didn't care for English football at all, everyone else had their favourites. I just cheer for Argentina, to hell with any other team

English football is huge in Norway. Actually people are more passionate about the english teams than most of the norwegian. The most popular is of course Man U (people always go with the flow, and that is so sad, and also quite a few norwegian players have played there lately. And Solskj

Forgot to mention I aliased shortly on zone after coming back from being offline when I played some at work. I used the random nickname generator on zone, and got the name: Receptive_Mink

Actually a great name, should used it more often. However I don't alias, so oh well.

Anyway, to make it clear the only reason I aliased on zone when playing at work was that I was starved on quake2 after being offline for several months. And I wanted to play q2 on servers as much as possible during that hour and a half or so I had the chance to play. And not talking about where I had been, what I was doing and how I was doing etc Cut the crap, I wanted to play!

Else I never alias, but take great pleasure in seeing other people alias and their name of choice. Still gotta say happyquaker is up there among the best aliases I've seen.

I tried to move only the negative/noise posts out of here, but what I had to do was split the topic, then move selected posts *back* here through a tortuously arduous and ineffecient process of sub-splitting and merging.  So if I missed a few "good" posts that are still languishing in the effluvia section, my apologies.  But they are a PITA to move.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I think I used to use different aliases when connecting to servers with people I knew were on there playing, so I could have a safety net, that if I was playing crappy, they didn't know it was me =P  Fortunately I've stopped caring about the style I play, and am content being a human and having good days and bad days and everybody knowing about it =)  So I've been Punk>FAS> 99.9% of the time for at least 3 or 4 years.

Actually, just the other night I was on the rail server as SlimeBall, and I did ALL my firing crouched, and I never stood up.  It was crazy how many times people missed me when my only defense was crouching, and however quickly you can strafe back/forth in a crouched position.  I actually won a number of maps that way, sometimes convincingly hehe.

Sometimes I will use aliases as well, to spectate certain players that know me.  If for some reason they may feel any sort of pressure thinking/knowing I'm watching them, I will use an alias so they don't know it's me.  I'm sure most people don't care, but I used to feel pressure I think sometimes when people were watching me.

I just have fun now with the game, and play relaxed (mostly, occasionally I get a tad annoyed), and I end up playing a LOT better 99% of the time.  Attitude, and keeping your cool I think plays a big part in how well you play.

I've seen people mention about getting frustrated, and that making them more aggressive, thus trying to force things to go their way (what I used to do), and of course, often-times, they're in the wrong mind-set, and they end up continuing to play less than they're expecting, and just get more frustrated.

I guess I have a lot of philosophy on how to play the game the best way, and it seems to work for me most of the time.

Well, I generally don't like teams who just use money to win by buying players abroad. I prefer clubs that actually build up their own talents or buy players who aren't superstars yet and make them better. Real Madrid and Chelsea are prime examples of the first, just buying big star names. But feel sorry for English football now really, when you look at the teams the number of foreign players is ridiculously high. Arsenal has like 1 English player on the starting lineup or so, same with most of the other teams. Yet another reason why I prefer national teams over club teams, they have to do the best they can out of their own players. Except France who just imported a bunch of African players to win the world cup.

Anyway, always fun when ManU doesn't win anything. There are so many who likes them just cause they won everything 10 years ago or so. And now they haven't won much lately, allthough they use more money on players than ever Fun fun.

World Cup 2006 in Germany, I'll be there. Planning on getting a summer job in Germany so I can earn some money and watch some games and refreshen my german again. Right now it's on an all time low.

I should be there too - If I ever get a ticket from the drawings later this december. That's like, my dream.

I prefer the EPL over serie A or prima Liga - less diving and faking. A much more entertaining soccer. I used to watch the "Championnat" in France, but the game level is just not good enough to compete with EPL. I dunno much about Bundesliga or any other league in Europe. I go with what the Medias can offer.

Since two years Im mainly cheering for Chelsea. as for putting Chelsea with Real Madrid in the 'Star buying' thing, its overly exaggerated. Chelsea may not have 'pure english blood' players, but they certainly don't have "stars" like beckham, zidane, figo, raul, ronaldo, etc...

Chelsea is actually a team which competes because they work together. Actually, their best player is Lampard IMO, who's english.

Oh yeah, I remember all the hype when they won everything.. now they're nothing..

but on another note.. I watched the ECC Final between AC Milan and Liverpool.. and I was quite surprised that Liverpool pulled it off.. especially when AC had a 3-0 lead after the half... the peanilty kicks were nail biters

I chose B^SiC because "basic" refers to the most fundamental aspect of something, the part of something that is absolutely required.  It can also mean "primal" in a sense as well, because boiling human nature down to its most basic elements leaves you with pretty much nothing but sleeping, eating, fucking, love, and war.  It is also a fairly recognizable word, used fairly often in everyday speech and in advertisements (basic cigarettes for example) so I thought it would be a good, recognizable name.

Bleach (or {NYGANG}Bleach) is my new name, picked as i am a custodian and use bleach all the damn time (all my black clothes have spots) though i still go by alot of aliases.. depending on how wasted i am at the time, though my new one Not Player ive been using quite a bit. back on the zone i used to go by PHATBOY420 cuz my uncle was POT_PHATMAN and i just found it fitting until i got into the POT clan.

as for aliases, i use tons.. if im on NYGANG server using my name people will ditch out cuz they dont like us gangmembers too much  but ive been known as fLiM_flAM, ChickenGUTS, PrayingwontHelp, Tits_ofda_Bull, Sir_Fragsalot and tons that i just think up on the spot when i join a server

Well the history to my name is really all that interesting...

I started playing back in 98, and i was just looking for a name that I had never seen before.  Ive always thought the oldschool jonny quest show was pretty kick-ass, so i went w/ that.  That is it, Ive stuck with that name ever since then. JQuestt

I used to play alot of vanilla ctf back in the day ... which was always a blast.  With the offhand laser grapple   Now and then I still run into people that I used to play w/ often.  Does anyone remember the clan =LAW= ?  They were pretty big back then

I picked my nick off the TV series "Sanford and Son".  A bunch of the older player prolly remember it fine, but for those that don't it was a comedy series with Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor (in fact it launched Richard Pryor's career).

For a short time a while back I ran a 1v1/teamplay server called "FRED vs ESTER". The theme to Sanford and Son would play during the scoreboard after a match.
