Cats can be really good pets when you have them for their whole life.
Both of the indoor housecats that I had when I was a little kid, died in the past year at the impressive age of 17.
They both had quite a bit of personality, and gave off a pretty intelligent vibe for friendly animals, which is more than I can say for my dogs.



on a lighter note, here's my bulldog with his christmas bone.
he's dumber than dirt, and even when he's happy his face looks sad.

I've been around cats my whole life accept for when i moved away from home when I was 19. Sure you can say their I'll only bug you when I want to is low  maintenance but i find it insulting.

I bet that african grey parrot is a cool pet.
We had one for a while and ended up giving it to my uncle who lives out in Montana so it would have some cleaner air and wide open space.

they're smarter than any animal that I've ever seen.

Yeah, he's a talker. He doesn't always learn exactly what you want him to though. For a while he was telling everyone "shut up, prick!", because I used to say that to my cockatoo when he'd scream constantly. It's kinda funny, the cockatoo will scream, and he'll reply with a "shut up!" or a "hush!" or a "be quiet!". He even talks to the dog, "Abby! Abby! Come here." She'll turn and look around thinking it was a person calling her. He tells her "bad dog!". He makes gun noises when I go in there to feed him. Sometimes he starts mocking the cockatoo screaming which is a fucking joy. Annoyance in STEREO!

My wife adopted this giant white cat on Sunday, so we're back up to two felines romping around the place.

Apparently his original owners had named him something like "jade-man" ??  The pet shelter changed that to "James"... but my wife renamed him Biggie Smalls.

I didn't particularly want another cat, but when the wife offered to take over the cat box cleaning duties I went for it.

My wife is allergic,  so I just recently found a new home for 'Quad-z' my cat

The new owner, a buddy from work she hit it off with,  rename her Ozzy.
Sounds the same at the end,  still answers to it I figure.

I just adopted a new cat. I think. A 7 to 9 month old Maine Coon cat wandered out of the woods and started living under my deck. It’s at the vet now getting checked out and seeing if anyone reported it lost. If all goes well, it will be cat # 6. His name is Martini. Will post a picture when he comes home.

Yep, I feel like the crazy cat guy. I have a collie that herds them and keeps them under control. I also name them after favorite things so I don't forget the names. Martini, Tequila, Chivas, Chardonnay, Bailey and Tabasco.
