Thanks, she is a greater swiss mountain dog.  8 months old now and about 88 lbs.

Kind of like a larger basset hound but, yeah, great looking dog. I've never heard of the breed.

"Noodnick"

This little critter died this morning. 

She was about 12 years old, with a very unusual "personality".  In some respects more like a dog in the way she'd hang around where we ate just waiting for any crumb to fall to the floor - she'd dart over and scarf up just about any kind of food, stuff the other cat would show not the slightest interest in... we had nicknamed her Hoover for her food-crumb-vaccuuming-like behavior.

While I am a completely converted "dog person" I have had 5 or 6 cats in my lifetime and did not regret haveing any of them.  My dad was not a cat lover, but he did successfully train all of our cats to respond to his command.  Ironically the non-cat lover in our household became the one who we said "that is his cat", because they ended up loving him

you bring them home, they piss in a box, not on your floor, right away, no questions asked.

they're friendly if your nice to them, and pretty much mind their own business.  I don't see why people are always hatin!

This is Mr. Bigglesworth. He's a Sphynx cat that dislikes people getting angry. He once had hair as a persian, but lost it all in an accident during an unfreezing process.

I don't see why people are always hatin!

The way I see it is that,  the kind of person who hates cats is the domineering type who can't handle/doesnt like being ignored or disobeyed. Not to mention a cat will scratch/bite you which is most undesirable.

When I think of dogs and cats.... I think of Women.  Cats i'd compare their personality to that of a strong independent woman who wont take a mans abuse, and can take care of herself in every aspect.
And dogs as the sad,  needy,  beaten down wife, who always stays no matter how poorly she is treated.

That is why I'm a dog person i suppose because all dogs need someone.... anyone....    where as a cat can and will survive on their own if they must.
