My ex, put our dog of 15 years to sleep today. She was a good dog, not very dog like, more human than dog. Never did annoying dog type things. If that dog could talk, I think it knew the answers to the universe.

True. First Degree Murder. He took the dog TO the bridge where he tossed it over, which caused it's death. A premeditated planned murder, not just a murder that happened in the heat of the moment.

I don't consider that "torturing" an animal. Torture consists of causing an amount of physical or emotional pain or distress for the explicit purpose of making someone suffer. It could be said that the act of falling to it's death would cause emotional distress and terror, but that act was done for the explicit purpose of KILLING the animal. If he were to dangle it by it's legs for a while, which might even break it's legs in that process, that would be considered torture.

I think some of these PETA supporters have some serious mental defects they need to address. A few seem to be extremely appalled by thoughts of someone hurting or killing animals and devote lots of time to doing things for PETA's benefit because they think animals are so cute, cuddly, and defenseless... but they give little thought to the depraved acts humans do to other humans on a daily basis.

I didn't really mean to start a PETA discussion because I personally feel they are a bunch of wacko's. You don't, however, have to be part of PETA to find this act appalling. The whole reason the police are trying to make this and "animal torture" charge is because that is a felony and he would do jail time.

If someone drops a person off a bridge it's to late to prevent that person from being murdered, but this guy has already shown signs of bizarre behavior and there's no telling what else he is capable of. Forgetting about the dog for a moment he should be at least charged with attempting to murder who ever might have been driving a car down there!!! Getting him off the street for this would be fine with me.
