i believe it was a failure on your part to understand simple metaphoric language.

i stated on the topic of homosexuality: "others seem to 'let' it bother them, or even want  it to bother them."

the word 'let' indicates that it should not bother a heterosexual because it, in no literal sense, affects them. this can be due to securities of personality. i was not implying potential securities of sexuality.

the word 'want' could imply a number of things.

1) it is a popular opinion and viewpoint to disciminate gays or view them as a 'lower' human. (what i was suggesting).

if the entire world viewed gays as an equal and claimed they had a right to their own personal sexual pleasures, you would conform to this opinion. i think you simply want to be opposed to it for no real reason, and because it is acceptable at this time in society. i don't believe you're insecure or religious, and it's human to take the stance you have. you think the acts of gay sex are disgusting, so clearly there is something wrong with the character performing it.

2) personal insecurities (not what i was suggesting).
3) religious belief (not what what i was suggesting).

I'm sure the original gay people were discriminated against because it was against religious rules. Then slowly it grew away from religion and now people (like me) feel they need to hate gay people because that's the way it should be.

You're idea of most people accepting gays is a dream. I don't see that ever happening. If it does, then I can bet you at some point in your lifetime, you will be bothered in one way or another by homosexuality.

I personally have nothing against gay people, and I actually enjoy the company of lesbians quite a bit.
They are just like heterosexual women, except they don't act all weird around guys and as far as I've seen they are more sure of their ability to do things themself, than the "normal" bitches who'd gladly have men waiting on them, hand and foot...

I'm not exactly comfortable with gay men, but that's because I'm irresistably gorgeous to anyone who is attracted to men.
 

It's not like I hate them, and I dont want them all to dissapear or become hetero... they can do what they want with each other's butts. My posts yesterday were mostly hypothetical situations that we picked apart for the sake of discussion. It's not my place to tell anyone what to do with their life.

I just want people to realize that gays are, on some level, conciously choosing to be sexually active with each other, no matter how much a number of them try and put it all off on "attraction" and try to prove that there are real genetic differences that force them to be actively gay and pursue gay lifestyles. (...I like the way tons of chicks look, but it doesn't force me to do them...)

I only want this, because it seems to me that in recent years people have been finding more and more ways to blame things on everything but their own choices. I'm tired of people not taking responsibility for their own actions.

Any gay person who can look you in the face and tell you that they are actively gay because they choose to be, is worthy of at least a modicum of respect. (more worthy, in fact, than many straight people)
Homosexuals who blame their actively gay lifestyle on everyone and everything but their own choices are just making gays look bad and weak.

It's as though you're not delineating between innate orientation, and a conscious decision to engage in the mattress mambo.  (Which, I believe, is the technical term.)

Are you saying,

     a) gays can choose their feelings of sexual orientation
or, b) gays can choose who they go to bed with

?
