nothing is universally understood, and people don't really understand shit in the first place.we think we know whats up, but as a species we really have no fucking clue as to what the hell is happening on a "universal" scale. I don't claim to either.
where does grammar play a role? the categorizing of 'metaphorical' actually wasn't the core problem. the problem was the statement without any basis of reasoning ie: "it will happen, just wait!"
nothing is universally understood? i beg to differ. the grass is green, for example, is universally understood. how you define 'green' is a philosophical question, and a separate matter. we all know that if an animal is running, one way or another it chose to run. if anybody of any sexual orientation decides to have sex , we know they chose to do so (excluding rape again).

Now take this and apply it to the observation that many gay people and people who support gay rights, act as though gays have no choice when it comes to having gay sex with each other because of their sexual orientation.
in conclusion, I believe:If you consider having sex with a person of the same sex, you aren't gay.If you have sex with them, you are gay. (by choice)If you are gay, then you committed a homosexual act, and your choice to do so is the only thing responsible for you being gay.You are responsible for the choices you make.not your instincts, or your DNA, or your sexual preference, or society, or your gay partner.
