people who are genetically predisposed to being an alcoholic can choose not to drink, even after they have been overcome by the disease. it's just much harder for them to make that choice than it would be for someone else.the choice is still there though.
Predisposition towards a certain choice can influence a decision in a great way, but when it comes down to making the choice its usually pretty cut and dry.
