This is just how they write the show. Some kinda cliffhanger shit had to happen like that to heighten the excitement and suspense. And then they took several episodes to focus on each micro-group in single epsidoes to flesh out each one of those suspenseful situations. It's a method of constantly keeping the audience engaged and interested. Much like how the dialogue ALWAYS goes. Every episode is slathered with so much unrealistic over-dramaticized dialogue as if there's someone out there in the audience who still isn't completely convinced that in the world of Walking Dead, "This is just how it is now. The world is an ugly place. You have to KILL to survive." And that kinda shit is what makes me roll my eyes more emphatically with each new episode. The dialogue is so cliche and overused now. Almost makes me want to watch the newest episodes on mute. Because I like seeing what happens, but I hate those little stupid fucking "drama moments" where the writers recycle and whore the same dialogue they've been repeating for 6 straight seasons now.

Like I said, I actually like Z Nation a little more than Walking Dead now. It's less full of itself.

This episode was anticlimactic ...

That dum ass Deanna ate shit and died, which destroyed my theory about her potentially being a liaison in washington dc. She died so idiotically and her character proved to be a waste of time. She kept insisting that her people were rick's people...and the entire time she was vomiting this nonsense I kept saying to myself, no bitch, they are not his people, they have no earned the right to be his people; rick is not your jesus, so hurry up and die already.

Carol and Morgan were set up to be two extremes butting heads, and the W lunatic makes absolutely no sense. He has no logic, and i guess the writers invented this madman to prove a point that some people cannot be changed, that some people like to watch the world burn.....a reference from the Dark Knight regarding the Joker....
So these two noobs knock themselves out, and this W idiot decides to go outside to commit suicide with this fat whale fake doctor? rofl...

Its an interesting story line that i enjoy watching, and hopefully they survive to continue the friction.

Glenn was afk for this episode, and i was surprised.. after that gigantic lead up for his dum ass character, all he did was tell a little girl to man up or ship out..... what a dum ass, true to his character.

That eugene (focalor) character is hilarious, i would rank him as my #3 favorite so far, behind abraham and rick.

So it looks like the clan decided to douse themselves in zombie guts and navigate the herd. but where the hell are they going.. that village is toast, over run and owned. I am hoping that daryl sasha and abraham pick them up and continue heading to washington dc. But that idiot kid who was crying for his mommy while covered in zombie guts could make things interesting....
I think the kid is going to end up dying.... you cannot speak in the herd without getting caught, and i guess the young'in is going to have to eat shit, and poor mommy is going to have to let him go in order to survive. Should be a heartbreaking death scene, but the kid deserves to die.
It was an ok episode, nothing outrageous or too shocking.. i honestly think they need to broaden their horizons and take this show to new heights in new cities with new powerhouse characters. We need another MERL, or a bill murray, or someone that everyone can just drop their jaw for.....

Hehe. The god damn torrent I snagged cut off at the credits. Good thing somebody said something. Otherwise come february or march whenever the 2nd half of the season started I'da been scratching my head going, "...When the fuck did THIS happen?"

It wouldn't have surprised me that much though. The writing on this thing is getting really predictable. Seems like the one and only way they even know HOW to be unpredictable is the way they probably play a game of spin the bottle to figure out which one or two major protagonist characters to whack each season. It's pretty lame that THAT is the best way they can create buzz about their tv show.

Agreed, it is pretty predictable at times, but I still enjoy it overall.  The filler episodes, between the major story plots at times feel unneeded, but at the same time, I still like watching them.

This dude I work with reads the comics and has been talking about this Negan guy forever.  If he holds true to the comic book, he sounds pretty fucking nuts, so may be an entertaining villain.  Hoping more so than the Governor, who always reminded me of the guy who played Farris Buellers depressed friend Camron, which annoyed the shit out of me.

I tried to watch Z nation, but struggled getting past the first episode due to the acting, may give it another try though.

For the last two seasons that has been my major complaint about the series. I don't mind the direction the plot is going, and I can deal with some of the nonsensical stuff, but killing off people (in some cases before they really have much of a story) as the main method of generating shock or audience feeling is just getting old.

They seem to be using it way too much, and by now I'm just desensitized to it and I can't really find the time to care when random guy from this season gets whacked, or even some of the people from last season.

They aren't spending as much time in the episodes building up the background of characters for me to care about, as they are spending killing the people off, so at this point I don't even miss them. They were just caricatures of people slightly more meaningful than extras because they had a name.

Half the time I've just barely started to know their name and they get the chop, like the annoying son of the senator lady who was running all of their ill fated looting expeditions. Don't even remember what his name was, and I don't care. To me he was just thinly written jock/dick guy who got it halfway thru the season for being cocky and having bad aim.

The first moment he opened his mouth, I knew he'd get it because he was so stereotypical and they've gotten so predictable with this device for limping the plot along.

Within a few moments of a new character, you can tell if they will be dead soon, or a mainstay.  Like the guy that questioned Rick, on the mission to get rid of the horde, I thought right away - 'This mofo is dead'.

I think living a large community makes it tough on the writers to either have random people running around with zero plot, or give each of them a little plot.  Either way I think it thins out the main characters involvement and makes it seem like lazy writing.  What annoys me, is when they give a character some heavy plot and involvement, then they disappear for tons of episodes.  Example, would be the gay dude, forgot his name already, since he has only been shown for like 5 minutes talking to Maggie all season.

I don’t care enough about most TV shows to think about the writing, I just go along with it, while thinking about other shit.  But, this show does allow me to get more involved, which is a sign of a good show.  In my opinion at least.

The acting ain't terrific, the story ain't wonderful, but overall it's "funner" than Walking Dead ever will be. This season, most of the individual episodes kinda have their own themes behind them. One of them had an Area 51 aliens theme, another had a Grand Canyon theme, another had a down south redneck theme, another had a corporate weekend getaway theme, etc etc. Most people would probably call it complete crap compared to Walking Dead, but several things just annoy the shit out of me in regards to Walking Dead, and Z Nation takes itself WAY less seriously which in turn gives them more freedom and flexibility with the writing. And the black chick, Kellita Smith, is one hot god damn chocolate momma. Those tittays. I don't usually ever go for black chicks, but DAYAM!



How Walking Dead most notably annoys me is how Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) both have very noticeable british accents in real life while trying and FAILING MISERABLY to affect a southern accent in the show, and it just makes them sound really retarded. Norman Reedus (Daryl), on the other hand, is actually from Florida, so he isn't affecting an accent at all, that's how he talks. The story takes place in Georgia, so naturally many of the characters would have a southern accent. In my opinion, they should've picked other actors to cast besides Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan to play Rick and Maggie if they were supposed to sound decidedly southern.
