This whole thread is a massive fail on pan-semite, tbh.  But to address one point:

Tastyspleen admins aside if anyone so desperately wants to know what people are talking about or change their names to in-game then they should come in the server so that at least those people are aware of their presence. In all the years that people have been playing Q2 nobody gave a fuck about what other players where saying about them, ofc it was happening but we simply had no way of knowing and basicly couldn't care less. And it was good. If you had a problem with someone you had to wait till you saw that person again so you could continue the bickering or talk it out.
Browse this forum and you'll often find that quotes from ts-live (even old ones) are enough to get things going and once again it proves to be a feeding ground for e-drama. I'm willing to bet that most players don't even know or realize that every word they type and even their "private" chat is displayed in a public IRC channel, visible to people who aren't even in the server and who aren't admining any tastyspleen servers. Other than a useful feature for admins to keep track of things in real-time at quadz's TS servers  what real purpose does it serve other people? You all claim not to care (big lie) so why would you even care about what some newbs say about after you leave. I already mentioned I sometimes say stuff after arrogant people leave to lure them back because I know they'll see it even though they're not in the fucking server.
How retarded it that anyway, as if we're not being monitored enough already in real life. If Dick calls Harry who is in clan |ZZZ| a quad whoring douchebag then chances are that someone else from clan |ZZZ| is reading it while snoozing at work and decides to fuck with Dick the next time he sees him for calling Harry a quad whoring douchebag. Maybe Harry didn't give a shit what they called him but it did upset his clan buddy who had access to their chat. This sort of thing is happening now, just think about it. That said I admit it's stupid to spoof clan tags and it won't happen again but jesus don't make the things we say while playing or after losing bigger than they are.

You are missing the idea behind #ts-live - it's the ability to see real-time chatter AND server info on the servers being displayed for anyone to see, to encourage game play in a dead game.  I understand where you're coming from on the issue of people being able to troll in there waiting for the opportunity to jump on someone they don't like, but really, that shouldn't matter to someone who's just playing to have fun.  In fact, in-game shit talk shouldn't matter to someone who's having fun either.  It's all part of the game, and at the end of the day, the last thing on your mind should be those "internet meanies" who irritated you in q2.

I'm talking from personal experience as well.  Should you choose to get trolled, you're going to make it a lot harder on yourself to enjoy the game because you allowed yourself to be trolled.  Just play and enjoy the game, and don't care what people are doing or saying about you.  OR if you MUST respond to them, make it a joke on them, not on you.  Responding in any form is a fail in general, because you are giving people what they want, a reaction.  But responding in anger is the worst of all fails - it makes everything the opposing side says about you 100% correct.

Someone joined up on DM this morning briefly with the name "iR|MRE". It was a few minutes after I probably made Sgt.Stupid or HELLION mad by putting him on ignore. Don't think it was Daframen. They were pinging around 105. Pretty sure they're not iR.

I noticed yesterday when I was browsing "goto" that someone named "iR:joe" was on the DM server right before I joined. And today I look at the recent frags ticker under "this week" and notice the same name. I'm 99.9% sure this person is not the real |iR|joe (which is the proper way they'd type it if it were the real |iR|joe/poopoppa). Need more evidence? Look at the k/d ratio. No way poopoppa would be in the negs.
