No they're not Southern...Canadian OHW band from Hamilton (Steeltown) Ontario.
JUnkhouse - Out of my Head

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-FuQ0h0zPo

Kinda reminded me of another old band that I'm sure most of you have never heard of unless you were a fan of the old Redneck Rampage 1 game soundtrack. The Beat Farmers. They enjoyed some very small scale success back in the 90's. I guess the only high points of their career was when they had a song appear on the soundtrack to the movie Major League, when they appeared on the David Letterman show, and when they appeared on the Redneck Rampage soundtrack. In my opinion, the only really good thing that came from them was the drummer Country Dick Montana, who occasionally covered vocal duties. He had a really deep Johnny Cash kinda voice. He threw in liberal amounts of deranged humor too, which made him pretty charismatic. He was fuckin' legend too, I suppose in the truest sense... he died one night while the band was performing. He was on drums and dropped dead of a fuckin' heart attack! I'd guess it was due to the strenuous activity of drumming combined with illicit substances and the fact that he was a little overweight and probably had high blood pressure to begin with. Anyhow, here's two videos I found:

Maybe you've heard this one before. I've heard of a few stupid morning radio shows that have played this song over the years.
The Beat Farmers - Happy Boy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRnG9x08W8c

And since they really didn't have any other music videos, here's a live performance of Big Ugly Wheels from the album Van Go. Looks like the guitarist is covering the drums while Dick is doing vocals.

Aerosmith from the late 70s and deep into drugs. Still a great performance. I like the way the drums rise into the mix at the beginning. Personally I can't stand their pop mainstream shit later on. They gave up their hard rock edge.

I miss White Zombie. Post-White Zombie, Rob Zombie's music (in my opinion) has always lacked the pure "rock" feel that White Zombie had, even though they did incorporate a lot of samples and sound effects into their sound during AstroCreep 2000.

This was one of my favorite songs they ever did. Never made it on to any of their full length albums, instead it was used on the Airheads soundtrack. I'm not sure, but it could've also been released as a CD single. I know I would've bought it. God knows the rest of that soundtrack was pretty much all crap.

And Sean Yseult is just a fuckin fox.

My fav is still "More Human" but that one's cool. Its interesting that Rob Zombie created his own genre of music. I can't think of anyone who was doing anything similar.

I guess it just depends on what exactly you're wanting to call his "genre", AND at what point in his timeline you're referring to. To my ear, there is a big difference in his music with White Zombie as opposed to his solo career as Rob Zombie. White Zombie was a little more like metal, while Rob Zombie has always a bit more of a processed sound with straightforward time signatures and drum patterns that I'd begin to describe as "devil disco".

Well I meant both the man and the group he was in. Its kind of "dance" music but with very heavy guitar punctuation. And his sort of "rap" dialogue over that. It belongs in club music but for people with taste in metal music. There was no one else doing this before Zombie came along, I don't think. The closest I can think of (and its not that close) would be Run DMC - King of Rock.

If you seen Fast Times at Ridgemont High, you'll know this song, it's a band from my State, whose name gave the inspiration to the NFL team:

It's kinda hard to pinpoint exactly who the first band to display that kind of style. White Zombie didn't gain on-the-surface notoriety until the early 90's, which is the same time that The Genitorturers came along. They had a pretty similar style, although their music was focused on BDSM themes rather than pyschadelic horror. I've never actually heard anything White Zombie did before releasing La Sexorsisto, but I imagine it sounded a lot more rock-ish with less sampling and stuff. But then again, the first Genitorturers album sounded a lot more rock-ish than the later stuff too.

I've never heard of them but that video style is pure 80s. Their appearance is very Loverboy'ish.

Not "Loverboyish" but more R.E.O Speedwagon-ish.

Clapton, Lennon, Mitchel and Richards.  Yep.

I swore when that video started that Lennon and Jagger were modern day actors. Their British accents were off. But damn they sure looked like them. And the Clapton guy was a dead ringer for Eric, back in the early 70s. So......

An example of 80s pop. Bright, shiny, happy and catchy. A one hit wonder from Cats can Fly - Flippin to the  A Side.

Also a group called Eight Seconds - Kiss You When its Dangerous

In regards to the rock music and hip-hop/dance blending there was a collaboration by the X-ecutioners and Linkin Park that I was impressed with.

It's Going Down - X-Ecutioners ft. members of Linkin Park and Static-X
