If anyone should be banned, it should be this gang of trolls off of the forums, honestly. It would do these forums some real justice and probably wouldn't scare new TS members away from posting or having an opposing opinion.

I'm not defending anything and neither is toxic. He called out some facts and I agreed with him (seeing the exact thing happen elsewhere). No, I did not watch this demo or say anything about him hacking either way. If Quadz has already ruled I don't even see why it would matter.

I personally feel that it sucks when anyone is 'banned' from the Q2 community. It is already very small and half of the people that are regulars are complete asshats. Some of them I  suspect, I see wall'ish stuff happening all the time. I am a good player, especially with q2dm1. If you spectate someone like ah! (someone that tries hard to be the best but fails frequently and has a shit fit when it happens) you see some very wall'ish looking things happen in his play, constantly. This is someone that has a big reason to be cheating, because he wants more than anything to be the best Q2 player ever. Shots he'll make without any sound to have given it away, stuff which I'm sure being watched by demo with a wall hack on would make him look just as dirty, if not more dirty than others that have been banned.

I have played against ah! (aka Playboy / Dave ) and tested theories I had when he thought no one was checking and he's failed every time. I've faked to run at certain corners from a distance and had his prediction shots mysteriously go off right when they would have needed to. I've crouched in hiding places with nothing to give me away and had rockets mysteriously fly at me even though there's no way he should have known where I was.

I bet since he's been around so much though, no one thinks twice of it and no one will ever analyze, take demos or anything else. Basically anyone that's been playing for a while can get away with it, anyone that hasn't or has recently come back, get's called out for any little things that happen. ah! has his little posse of friends that will blindly back him up no matter what and this enables him to pretty much do anything he wants.

To clarify, what I said was that I didn't feel that the opposite-POV demo was sufficient evidence to make a determination either way.

Im Sorry Quadz, I should not of used a wallhack.

So, although this decision was not 100% unanimous among the admins, we're going to lift the ban.

Anticheat will be forced (of course.)

elppen was not sanguine about using his playername, so he has been granted the use of a limited number of aliases.

We will of course be monitoring for attempts to bypass anticheat with "undetectable" hacks as well, but hopefully he's learned his lesson and won't be making any such attempts... That would be, shall we say, "unwise", and would result in a permaban.

Finally, elppen expressed concern about a forum flame war resulting from his admission of wallhacking being made public.  However, I have advised him he is not obligated to respond to such posts.
