I really don't understand how these people can say it's just a sexual orientation  Pedophilia is a sickness, not a sexual orientation, these people should seek help for it instead of trying to make it seem ok by saying they'd never hurt children.

many things fall under that category.  It's a fetish like people who see driving as a turn on, hand cuffs, men in dresses, etc.  f-upped, but still... i find a lot of things f-upped.  (but, the difference between child-sex abuse & accepted is a birthday.  17 years, 364 days = sex abuse.  18 years = woot-woot.)

I refuse to accept it as being a fetish, it's just sick, a sickness of the mind.  I've known/know people who were molested, and seeing how they turn out makes me angry at people who think that way.  And at least at 17 or so, they are better prepared emotionally to handle that kind of thing, as opposed to an 8 - 12 year old, which is what pedophiles would go after, if not younger.

Now, as a separate issue, we can of course legally restrict speech on tastyspleen, to whatever degree we deem appropriate.

If the admins feel it's time to add something besides racist/hate speech to our off-limits guidelines, then I am OK with that.

At this point I would suggest the admins discuss the issue among themselves and decide on a course of action.

Well you can start off with my sarcastic list. Hell, half of this damn forum would have to go, how many instances of assault is one subjected to? How many instances of sexual misconduct in regards to homosexuality is one subjected to on those servers or on these forums??? What assumptions are being made that all the derogatory speech on these servers fall to adult eyes??? Is this a fight against moral indecency?? Because if it is...a mirror is a good place to start.

I understand where you're coming Cat, and I agree.  I could care less what name he uses or what he says in game, I see a lot of stuff said that I just ignore and play.  Nor do I think he should be banned or muted because of it.  My only problem with him is because of what he is.  But I could care less that he plays on the server, I'll just ignore him like I do anyone else that does similar stuff.

I didn't pop in using a clan tag pretending to be in a clan. Honestly I was getting owned by BTF and changed my regular name to BTF faggot (bundle of sticks) in front of BTF members because I was just having a horrible game and took it out on them. Which doesn't make it right and it lasted all of about 5 minutes. I also am not for censorship because I often use the name DICKMITZER which was from a joke about a guy being so gay he got dickmitized when he saw a dick. Me and some of my friends thought it was funny and started using the name. No one has ever complained about that name. I know we all talk shit and piss each other off at times which seems par for the coarse but to come in and talk about sex with children I thought maybe was so horrific that console might tell them to change thier names. I've seen console defend lesser causes. But you do make sense and I'll just ignore those sick fkrs....

I certainly do not condone the molestation of children, the thought of it thoroughly wretches me. Anyone who violates the innocence of a child should have his balls smashed.

Your own choice to use the name BTF-faggot (bundle of sticks) might offend someone who is a homosexual. Some have made mention to the fact that acts of pedophilia are in violation of the law. Should this person be banned from using the servers for making such comments? I certainly don't want to read comments about having children as sex slaves or any other comments to that effect. But if comments such as that are outlawed because of how they advocate the breaking of laws, should people be prohibited from discussing things such as, "Oh man, I just smoked a big fat joint laced with PCP and coke, I'm soooo fuckin' high right now!!!" Possession of marijuana is also against the law. Personally, I don't do drugs. In my opinion, they dull the senses, have the capability of controlling a persons will, their usage typically becomes more of a compulsion than an indulgence (i.e. addiction), and above all else... it's illegal and has the capability of landing you in prison, a place NO ONE wants to be. But I certainly don't think that people should have to censor what they say about it.

Do we really have the right NOT to be offended? We all populate these servers by choice. We can choose to NOT go there if we don't like the environment. It's up to the Tastyspleen admins as to what to do about this situation. If anyone would like to take a productive stand on the issue at this point, the thing to do would be to ask the person whenever you see them on the servers in a respectful and polite way to please change their name. If they begin with the comments about "children as sex slaves", exercise your own right to free speech on these servers by persecuting and ridiculing them for such comments. If enough people do that, they will probably leave on their own.

And yes, that would mean you have the right to call them a "faggot (bundle of sticks)" if you like.

I accept the fact that possession and useage of marijuana is becoming more widespread and socially acceptable in some peoples minds, but the fact remains that it is illegal. Just because many people disagree with a law, doesn't give them the right to break that law. There are degrees of the nature of the offense: misdemeanor and felony. At this point, in the "Supreme Court of Tastyspleen", I would consider the allegations against this person to be mere misdemeanor charges. Obviously the person will be admonished to cease and desist with comments about having sex with children (even though the only evidence I can recall is them saying "Your children will be my sex slaves") and hopefully they will comply with the request. Obviously they will be closely watched for further incident, and if such a case should appear, they will then be considered a "Tastyspleen habitual violator", which brings the charges up to a felony offense. The Honorable Judge Console will then pass sentancing on him accordingly, which could include temporary mute, permanent mute, mandatory player name change, temporary IP ban, or permanent IP deportation/exile from the jolly continent of Tastyspleenia.
